Hiya Kevin, where I used to live in the middle 1980s was a Victorian Terraced house, one night my sister Leanne was talking to someone, Mam put her head around the door and said "Leanne who are you talking too?" Leanne (aged 7 at the time) said "I'm talking to the old woman, she's going to knit Dad a pair of Socks" the old woman had a winsiette nighty on, Mam said to Leanne "go back to bed" so Leanne done so, I told the occupier in the pub next door, but she had no encounters with the ghost, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
