Still true to this day. I wasted years thinking the Prem was the best. Until paramount streams Serie A and ESPN La Liga I found out the premiership isn’t all that. I love La Liga and how elegant the players are and Serie A. Just classy. Prem is a bunch of guys who run fast and cross.

English football only looked faster because the technical level was poor. Lots of long-balls, scrappy games and players chasing their heavy first touch. As the quality of football improved, your average Prem game seems slower now.

If Vinnie Jones really felt that football is COMBAT, why then didn't he take one of the 'martial' sports? Having seen him in some of my fav films - action films at that, I'd say he'd be right at home in boxing and the other brawling sports. The usual cr*p defense from people/players of his sort is - 'it's a contact sport'. Yes it is! What it isn't is a martial sport.
@D_B_CooperАй бұрын
Now look at the game. It's a joke. Not a fan of Vinnie, he picked the wrong incident to make his point but his underlying point was proved correct.
@konzzaАй бұрын
Yup. Not a fan of current intrepetition of rules, when you get a carded even if getting to ball first if you go there hard. It was good when they started red carding stud first kneebreakers, without intent of getting the ball. But football is physical game, and simply going in hard for the ball shoudn't be penalised as such.
@ZzzVainАй бұрын
@@konzza diving is something else this is 2 feet open tackle from behind tendency to fracture Gullit leg. And yes I am Ruud fan like Batistuta and Cantona Henry, my favourite players but none of them ever dive or flop. Modern era have huge money marketing thats why players behave like divas especially Neymar. Eduardo Rosicky and (I think) Ramzey never jumped during similar tackle and their legs were fractured.

Premier league has never been best league in the world. It has the best marketing in the world that's it. Watching Serie A during the 90s and early 00 was great then Spanish football took over that was a joy to watch. I find premier league boring league. Sky hype up the top 4 race and relegation battle they hype it up so much. I never seen anything like that in other leagues. In the league only have one winner nineteen loser very simple.
