If you or someone you know has been injured by emotional or physical abuse, healing is available. There is no easy road to recovery, but spiritual healing awaits beginning with a relationship with Jesus Christ. Charles Stanley will explain in this message, 'When We Are Abused,' how only God can restore the health of those who have been abused and that He will make them whole again as they grow in His love.
This message is part of the series "The Source of My Strength."

I want to pray for everyone here who has felt abuse remembering that abuse can be in many forms. Both physical and emotional. I pray for God’s healing touch. Thank you Pastor for preaching this sermon. I’m sure your sermons led many people to be healed and come to Jesus Christ and still have an important part in peoples walk with the Lord. I’m glad your voice is still being heard after you have passed.

I experienced sexual abuse as a child from a family member then physical and emotional abuse from my biological father, then married a man that was physically abusive for many years. This sermon popped up on my KZbin account this morning and I truly believe it was sent to me from God. So thankful for Pastor Stanley’s faithfulness and that his sermons are still touching lives today even though he is now with Jesus…✝️

He is the first Pastor I ever knew that dealt with the topic on abuse from the pulpit. This has by far been the most effective sermon on the issue of abuse I ever heard. I pray that this helps everyone who has dealt with any kind of abuse. Be healed by the mighty power of God in the name of Jesus. Thank you God for this message and everyone's healing in Jesus'name Amen✝️🛐🕊️.

Thank you Lord. I REALLY need healing from every form of abuse. I use to ask, "why me? Why all the types of abuse? Why not just physical, or two? Why did i have to suffer them all?" Here i am as an adult Christian (believer of Jesus Christ) still struggling with my past. I choose to believe one day, through the power of God's healing I will experience complete healing in the land of the living. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen 😢😢

Its ok talk to God and ask why. He tells us anything is possible for those who believe. Lay down resentment, bitterness or anything else. Tell God you wanna let go but you don't know how and you need his healing. I would find scripture and sermons to help guide you through this process. It's gonna be ok.

One day, you will be able to help those who have been abused because you've been there. That's how God can turn something bad into something good. Let God use your pain to help someone else and give God the glory.

I keep learning that forgiveness is the key to healing from the hurts others cause us. Sounds backwards but it's God way. But forgiveness is not for them, it's for us so God can heal us. Our Unforgivenness is a sin and puts a barrier between us and God. (Matt 18) Some sins committed against us are so grievous, however, that we need God's help to forgive. Go to God every day and tell him you want to forgive but need His help. Tell him you choose to forgive from your heart and name each person for each specific sin. You've been given His Spirit of power, love and self control so you have the strength to choose to do this. You won't "feel" like it but you can do it. It's a battle of your will. You might not feel better right away but keep doing this daily and God will eventually give you insight into this person or situation that will remove your hurt and replace it with healing, love and compassion. Your pain will be gone. Then you'll know you have truly forgiven. ❤

I'm grateful for Dr. Stanley giving his testimony here about his stepdad. I can't remember a time when my biological dad wasn't abusive. Not sexually, but every other way. Even to the point of telling me as a child that I was the result of a birth control failure. I'm not around him much anymore, but when I am, I can see he hasn't changed and feels no guilt. Forgiving him is extremely hard. I definitely need God's help for that.

I've been in mental abuse. Eventually I heard we poison our own bodies by not forgiving them and they feel nothing. So what is the use of being unforgiving u are the one that suffers. Plus if u don't forgive u don't get into heaven and they win. Jesus says if u don't forgive others Jesus can't forgive u. It's not easy but God knows best.

Dr Stanley was so far ahead of the rest when it came to talking about this subject. Back when this sermon came out, nobody was talking about it. I really appreciate his courage and his vulnerability in sharing his story and also bringing to light the reality that so many people lived but had nowhere to go with it. His sermons helped me so much over the years. Such a gifted pastor. ❤

Thus sermon has me sobbing. My brother abused me for many years as a child (my mother knew, and she was physically and emotionally abusive). My niece was also abused by him, and he finally was put into prison for molesting his daughter. What weighs heavy on my mind is her abuse and how many were abused before her (as he worked in Guam laying lines. Cable, I think). I recently found out that he abused several girls in our neighborhood as children. I have had absolutely nothing to do with my family for many years, and life is so much better without them in my life. God is great!!!

It is so hard to read from others what I witnessed for decades with the kids next door. I knew they were abused for their horrendous father while the mother had to work. Now that they are adults I ask them for forgiveness, I just whish could do more for them than just babysit while hearing them yelling. I was about to call the police so many times but unfortunately in my country the first option is to send the kids to their father's parents and I prefer to rescue them time by time than not having any chance to see them any more.

This is such a profound sermon. The consequences of abuse can take a lot of work and time to untangle from our souls. And forgiveness can also be confusing. You would think forgiveness would erase the pain of the abuse but that hasn't been my experience. I think one of the most damaging sides to abuse is how it impacted my relationship with God and my openness and belief that he loves and values me. This sermon was such a great mental, physical, emotional and spiritual checkup for me. ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:19‭-‬20‬ ‭NIV‬‬ This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. ❤❤❤❤❤

Romans 8:28 I refuse to relinquish my joy of serving my Lord and Savior . . .I believe my Savior, will restore me and liberated me of pain of being with someone who doesn’t love especially because he doesn’t believe in God either. Holy Spirit restore me so I can serve you wholeheartedly and no longer hold the memory of the pain & hurt of my marriage, that way what I've forgiven, my I remember it no more. You are the only one who can save my husband. I let go and reach out to you Abba Father, help me to step out in faith from under this and forgive me Father for my disobedience because you sent many people to warn me yet I did not listen, being nieve and thinking people can change. I know now people can not change independent of our Savior and your Holy Spirit.

Being abused by my Dad sexually, emotionally and physically, took me many years to forgive. Always felt like I was different from others and couldn't connect to anyone else for fear they would hurt me. I wanted him dead for a long time. When he did die I hadn't seen him for 15 years. I had to forgive him after his death to move on. The effects are still with me, but I try to not let it control my life. Has made it hard to trust anyone who says they love me, thinking they have an alternative motive in mind. Married 40 years but took a long time to really trust him .. God gave me a good man. I am grateful for that. He loves me for who I am and what I've been through. God is good.

Amen. I was abused by both of my parents, for years. I hated both of them, until I gave my life to Christ. I then forgave both of them, because God's word commands us to, and because I didn't want to carry the chains of being an unforgiving daughter. The Lord healed my relationship with my parents, and it was beautiful.

Thank You In Touch Ministries for this message from Dr.Stanley. Although I had a wonderful family, I never was raised in a Christchurch body. My Father and Mother where very good to me. The only abuse I believe affected me in my life was being thrown in into the military at the very young age during a time of a senseless conflict. I have many other close friends that suffered terrible things worse than me, I've had to watch their life's be tormented because of what they seen and endured. Some friends I grew up with never made it back at all. I spent a life time of bitterness in my life because of that and it's been just recently I was healed of all the bitterness I harbored. And it was God the Father who did the healing through the full understanding of what Jesus Christ did for us all on the Cross at Cavalry and sending wonderful people filled with the love of God that finally caused my healing, it took awhile because of my hardened heart but it's all in the past now because I know I'm forgiven, saved and sanctified by his blood. Father in Heaven, I want to thank you for loving me enough to send these wonderful people into my life. In Jesus Holy Name I give you all the Glory Father God for doing this for me, Amen.

Someone at work has been abusive towards me. Upsetting harassing annoying me even though I do a good job each day. Recently I confronted him and shouted at him on the hospital corridor. Not the best place to do such thing but I believed that I had to verbally punish him. The doctor has given me two weeks off since.
