Kurt, the worst time of the season.......... I keep about 190 birds in the flying loft, it is a daily clean up of feathers, thankfully its nearly done, with most birds still got 2 or 3 flights to go !!! :-))

To quicken moult season ... some flyers use light system ... as well as cutting 8 - 10 or more flight feathers to quicken moulting ... as they go thru moulting ... they are given there vaccine shots ... 😢

I can’t really get any racing pigeons so I caught ferals and hoping to get some young off them. Have you any experience doing this ?

i used to catch babies under the train bridge and raise them up, used to be great pigeons!

@@ManeyPigeons Feral pigeons and a lost and banded racing homer invaded my song bird feeders last summer. An internet search lead me to your channel. I ended up trap training 82 ferals, hoping to catch the lost racing homer but no luck catching that bird as it disappeared. Injured pigeons would return to my feeders nearly starving to death. I built a small loft for them, treated them until they fully recovered. I ended up with 4 mated pairs who have produced 3 rounds of babies each. When I let these birds out for a fly, they love to fly fast and low, zigzagging around trees. When they pass overhead, I love the faint whooshing sound they make. As another KZbinr said, flying pigeons is like flying a kite without string.
