Minimum wage =/= Livable wage. Minimum is supposed to be reserved for brand new job market applicants with absolutely zero experience, credibility, or skills that are not common place. In short, teenagers. Simply increasing the minimum wage up and up will not magically make expensive things affordable. It will in fact have the opposite effect and create inflation. Driving up those same costs even higher. You cannot artificially boost a low skill job’s pay level without causing overall prices to also follow suit. The market must naturally dictate wages and prices otherwise the end result is almost always inflation unless you cut the fat elsewhere. If there is something corporations are good at it is hiding money. You will NEVER “tax the rich or make the super wealthy pay their fair share”. They are ludicrously wealthy because they are absolute grand masters at profit manipulation and money allocation. Raising the minim7m wage will never hurt a corporation. They will only pass those cost onto us one way or another.
