First of all, this was absolutely my experience playing Resident Evil or Silent Hill as a kid. It wasn’t until about ten years later that I attempted going back as a teenager and I loved them. Not too long afterwards, even scarier games took their place and turned me right back into the guy in this video. Also your production quality seems to have improved a lot, and I LOVED the way you used FFX’s Wandering Flame here. Lol

@@thefirstc.j.582 what was scarier than those two?? For me it was Silent 2, Resident Evil 7 (especially that demo), and PT. Those games caused me a LOT of stress. Getting through some of those areas took me a tremendous amount of willpower. The first two got a lot less scary once I beat them, but I still can’t beat PT. God, I can’t even WATCH that game being played. Plays on my absolute worst fears and anxieties and reminds me what it felt like to be a child afraid of the dark. I imagine that’s that “fear of the unknown” element that’s heavily played upon. And although I was just as disappointed when Silent Hills was inexplicably cancelled, I’m not gonna lie, I was also relieved as I wouldn’t have been able to NOT play a Hideo Kojima game with Del Toro’s involvement and starring Norman Reedus. But that stress would have straight up killed me if PT was anything to go by…

Man it was so great as a kid experiencing games for the first time. The turn of events, the story, the new concepts and being totally amazed by it. As an adult its like 90% of the games are a total grind or just copy each other and it loses interest. Half the time you are exposed to it or spoiled by social media and ads before you even touch the game. As a kid I remember not having internet growing up so a game was a game and all I knew about it was what I read on the back of the cover before buying it. I could play the crap out of the game and have so much fun just because it's what I picked out. It could have been a crappy game, sometimes games I look back on I was like, "Why did I enjoy that, it wasn't even that good." I miss those days of diving into a game and being lost into the world. Luckily as an adult I found one game that gave me that feeling once more, one that is more tangible and I can remember and that was Life is Strange. I loved that game it was so interesting and I found myself playing it on a long weekend nonstop. Most the times now I play games for 2-3 hours and then need a break for something different, even if I am enjoying the game I still get reminded of RL things to do and put it down and go do that. Growing up, never understood why kids want to be an adult when being a kid is where all the memories of a life time are made. Adult is just farming XP and grinding for gold to get end game loot like a house, a car, and retirement.
