The reason he said that is in the original video he had just got it out of the water so he hadn't even unhooked it 😂😂😂

Bro, people need to understand most fisherman don’t keep the things they catch they throw them back 😂

When the fish goes into water after it’s been out, it just needs a second to get used to the water again
@-touya_todoroki10 күн бұрын
No just in shock, give it a moment and you will find out if it actually is dead or not

Cruel to do that to fish. @@-touya_todoroki
@-touya_todoroki8 күн бұрын
@@cathyskywalker77 actually it's not, fish regularly die from being attacked by other fish in the same way that's why there's a small chance it's actually dead but just hasn't died yet. That is why fish can just die after being attacked by other fish once! In this case the fish likely did recover as wild fish are better at handling stress then pet fish like gold fish or Bettas. By running the water over the gills and holding them while increasing stress it helps basicly force them to breathe which helps bring them out of shock. The way one knows when it's ready to be released is once the fish tenses or it's been 1-2 minutes of rushing the water over the gills. I myself did this once and it took about 5 seconds I felt the fish tense then let go it stayed for about 2 seconds took a breath and darted away. I'd also like to add that fish do not feel pain when they do get hooked, rather they feel panic and pressure which means it's actually more humane to fish with hooks instead of nets as nets actually cause more panic and can affect the fishs slime coat even if they escape. Hooks when set properly cause little to no damage and actually normally get their lip or lower jaw! Which breeds very little, it bleeds alot like our leg with a shallow wound which allows them to not bleed out. A good fishermen will not throw back a fish if it's bleeding too much and instead will hit it with a rock which for fish kills them instantly if done right. Fishing like this and with a hook is far more sustainable and safe for the fish. Furthermore one can use fake bait to discourage the fish from completely swollowing the hook. If someone is useing live bait then they should be able to not hook the fish in the stomach aka the fish swallows it, and if they are doing this then they likely intend to consume every fish they catch most live bait fishers are infact aiming to eat all the fish.
