He's absolutely SLAPPING the forehand. This is actually faster than a Sinner and Alcaraz forehand. It's all in the takeback. He takes the racquet back, but then continues by opening up the shoulders to get that extra oomph. Amazing.

One thing is hitting like that in a practice session, and something completely different is to hit like that on a tennis match.
@elloburger10 күн бұрын
could you explain why cuz i see these all the time and wonder how these peeps arent pros with hits like these?
@greg589210 күн бұрын
@@elloburgertennis is about more than being able to wail on a flat ball placed in your strike zone. Good technique involves strong and clean strokes, but also footwork to respond to where the incoming ball is for a consistent contact point. That’s going to change depending on your opponent’s spin, depth, and placement. The pace of the incoming ball and your court position will change your stroke. That’s before accounting for the mental part of the game. By that, I mean strategy, but also that you can be killer in practice rallies and the stress of a match can compromise your technique and consistency. And NOBODY can sustain hitting like this person is in this clip at 100% for multiple sets, endurance-wise. He’s using a lot of energy in exertion here, at times arming the ball. The cleanest ball strikes leverage biomechanics, in a kinetic chain, to create power more efficiently with less direct effort. Im not saying he’s not also using his core or rotation or doesn’t have good technique, but it looks like he’s really pushing the limit. And high level players hit at 80-85% most of the time. Compare this vid with court level practice videos of top pros hitting rally balls. What do they look like? Even aggressive players look for opportunities to hit winners rather than smacking every ball. I’m not saying this player is not playing at a high level, but this clip is not representative of how they likely approach the sport. He’s probably working on a specific shot. (And also showing off 😉)
