I remember my first F3 playthrough because it was the first time I really played a game like that. So naturally I walked out of the vault and turned right on the road, which most experienced F3 players will remember is one of the many random encounter locations. Needless to say one of the magnificent bugs of Fallout 3 happened and I was greeted with a fully armored Enclave Soldier with a plasma rifle 45 seconds after leaving the vault.

I made a wrong turn straight out of the vault and ran into the mugger with no ammo. I was able to point out that his gun was empty but then he came at me with a melee weapon. After taking him down I had to get my brother who only recently started his first playthrough as well to guide me back to megaton. I felt silly realizing how obvious it was.

That bug (which is actually from the Broken Steel DLC) was sadly never officially fixed. But it's fixed in the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch

This is an amazing mod idea! If anyone reading this happens across someone making a mod around skills perhaps mention this to them! It would be easiest and extra funny in Fallout 4 having the nuke instead drop when you exit the vault lol, even have pre-war sanctuary there, would require a loading screen to switch to post war sanctuary tho.

Was gonna say, played 3 way more than new vegas, but Ive still crashed more in new vegas. But new vegas has so many more little things about it, it's like fallout 3 part 2 and 3. If fallout 3 had a true sequel. More of the fallout 3 goodness. Take all the bland samey-ness out of fallout 3 and replace it with tons of little stories, characters, dialogue, and environmental storytelling, and youve got new vegas.

In new Vegas if you put your luck all the way down and the rest of your stats as high as you can go. Doc says something like " this doesn't make a lick of sense, you must be the luckiest sun of a gun in new Vegas"
