And this is why I don't bother with modern Yu-Gi-Oh past watching these vids...it gets WAY too sweaty and the fun is pretty much gone for me since if a player loses a board they spent forever setting up like this they just quit....they don't bother trying to play through because now it's all down to one big board or one big monster and it's over for them if they lose that.

Preach. The same thing happened to me a few days ago, and they didn't even normal summon. I stay away from playing the same meta decks everyone else is playing because it gets boring dealing with the same strategies over and over. I play decks, no one expects. That's why I have consistently made it to Master rank with Mikanko, haha.

@@CamerronEstes I flat out told my friend who's still into the game that I would only bother playing with him and our other friends because we can set house rules and avoid meta decks. I've had surgery to fix my vision but looking a computer screens all day and being pre-disposed to having failing eyesight by BOTH sides of my family means eventually I'll need glasses again....and I dang near need a magnifying glass NOW for all the text on Yugioh cards. I tend to play E-HERO cause it's my favorite archtype and it's not as loaded down with text as more modern cards. I had an easier time getting back into MTG after 20 years of not playing than trying to jump back into Yugioh after not playing since LINK Monsters dropped and had the initial rule that made my EHERO deck UNPLAYABLE without LINK Monsters. Just learned how to play Commander thanks to a friend who had like...3 decks already and I had two I bought just because I thought they were neat so had a 3 player Commander match with my two friends...that was easier to understand and follow than modern Yugioh to me...again text being readable without a magnifying glass helps a lot too lol.

You i always wonder whether gozen or evenly matched are broken then one time I full negate board as well which does make realized why we needed actual removal in the old days like raigeki

Being on the receiving end of a situation like this once made me paranoid enough, that every time my opponent goes directly into the battle phase and I have I;P Masquerena on field, I immediately use her effect before entering the battle phase to bring S:P Little Knight. Even if I already have an omni-negate or Spell/Trap negation. Just to be on the safe side. My opponent might still banish most of my board, but I at least won't lose everything and might be able to make a comeback next turn.

He probably was confident in Baronne negating Evenly. Has no way to know that opponent has 2, is a rare occurrence.

I used to be a combo player in the past. But after Droplet, DRNM, Nibiru, Evenly, you can actually lose to a single card lmao hahahaha And even if you manage to survive this like Dragon Link (the deck I used to play) plaing around Nibiru summoning Herald of Arc Light in the 4th summon without even using Halqfibrax, then they banned Linkross xD or you could also play smoke grenade with Tracer to avoid DRNM and Droplet. They banned smoke too but more because of Infernobles, but it was useful in Dragons too. So there are 2 paths to choose: Lose to a single card. Or be strong enough to play around them and get cards banned Also, many of those decks can't rebuild the combo after getting one of those counters due to the garnets you search in the combo. They are all glassjaw, a single shot deck. If you miss its over xD
