I think its cool when stuff like this happens in games, but they should have different dialogue for when it does. like instead, she could explain her bell situation, and then maybe you hear them ring or something and she goes "someone must've put them back up" and you get the option to say "yeah that was me" and boom quest complete.

That's something you'd get in Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla. I love the "Oh? You did that already?" type dialogues since I am one of those who complete as much side quests as possible before the main quests.

There actually are some dialogue options like this I remember completing a potions or herbology quest I believe that required you to go to a specific spot and collect an ingredient that I already had an abundance of and they gave me an option for saying you already had the ingredients. I believe my mc just said “actually professor I already have that” and they said something like “oh well done you’re growing as a student every day” it was really basic but figured I’d let you know that some of the main quests actually do have this third option ❤️

@@kingofpersia4559 Yeah, it's got some issues but I can't help but love Hogwarts Legacy. Imagine if they had more time to develop and add things like Quidditch. Hopefully they'll add more content through DLC/expansions? I heard there aren't any plans at the moment, but that's understandable since the game just came out. I still plan on playing this at least a couple more times for sure!

Same here after I got wingarium leviosa i instantly went to the bells because I stumbled upon the bells and didn’t have luck with it before but than I put them back right away and yes I was a little disappointed I didn’t get any achievements but I was happy the hell was placed back lol

Same happened to me. Could have been prevented if quest objectives are not available until the quest starts (the bells being in their place before the quest starts, but being removed AFTER being given the quest)

Or they could be still misplaced before the quest starts, but aren't interactive until you start that quest.

I would think it more logical that they are in place before the quest starts, but are removed just like the quest giver states when you receive the quest. Clearly showing the player the change if they previously had visited the location.

Honestly kind of like that you could do some things before interacting with the quest. I ended up taking down people that were terrorizing Hamlets just cause I wanted the cool owl mask from the infamous foes challenges 🤣

I did the exact same, as soon as I could, I started exploring the castle and saw the bells. I couldn't move them, because I didn't learn Wingardium Leviosa. After seeing Mrs. Garlick, I went straight to the bells to place them back, thinking that it would spawn a chest or unlock something, which wasn't the case. I met Evangeline after completing the whole game lol.

This kinda reminds me of my first play-through of Skyrim, where I just explored as much of the world as possible without doing any quests or going into towns. During my exploring I found multiple Quest items and accidentally completed some quests without realising, I just walked into town, accepted a quest, and told them I already had the item in my possession.

Using the Cheat Room mod's Teleport Spell Locations spell, I went to Sovngarde before the character even learned they were the Dragonborn. I broke the timeline. Same with starting off at the Thalmor Embassy with Live Another Life. The game saves were basically unplayable.

ive only had this with an NPC in a specific hamlet where she requests you to take out Selwyn which is an infamous foe found in Hogsmeade

This also happened to me. I spent much of the time exploring, which I love. I also beat the puzzle doors (whatever you call them) before getting the cheat sheet. Me and my roomie sat down and kept trying to figure it out, half expecting that we had to come back later. When we solved it, we decided that that's how we'd play from then on. Well, I decided us. So now I'm running around trying to do everything without being prompted to. It's a great adventure. You never realize how much wonder is ruined by mapmarkers and hand-holding until you experience the wonder of self-guided exploration. When I ask "Can i open this door", the game should reply "I don't know ,can you?"

lol theres a cheat sheet?????/ i explored for SO long and the doors bothered me until i realized it started at 0 and not 1, just counting the limbs and head of the animals was it. i genuinely had no idea there was a hint in game. the only problem i had was i couldn't open chests when i had already found them all because i hadn't gotten alohomora 3 yet ( so i would've had to do a lot of back and forth) ( i hate the moon things)

@@jazmanikx There's a cheat-sheet for one of the doors, yes. I also had a huge breakthrough when I realized it started at zero. Nothing in the game has brought me as much joy as cracking that puzzle early on. And yes, I think everyone hates the moon things, especially when they fail to be colletable despite it clearly being dark. And don't get me started on the lockpicking minigame. IT'S A SPELL! I could accept the notion of a minigame if it was fun, but it's not only boring but it makes no sense for there to be a lockpicking minigame when I just used a spell to open the lock. It's madness.

If they didn't want it to be done before, they should have put this quest closer to the time you get Alohomora. From what I remember you need to unlock a door to get to the bell tower.

You can get to the bells at the very begining of the game. You just can't interract with the bells without Wingardium Leviosa.

People say you need accio, leviosa and depulso. you only need Accio and Leviosa, I did it before realizing it was a quest. I thought it was just another entry.

the funiest thing is in hogmeat when i guy ask you to spoil someone business by taking his tatencula venena, if you don't want to spoil a guy business you can put "i'll find another way" and give him a tentacula venena that you harvested somewhere else, but if you aldreay have tentacula venena well you can just talk to him back right away without even moving and give him that and he'll believe you and give you a reward

I also did it before encountering the quest. After fixing the bells, I thought there must be more since I didn't get any reward. I thought I had to play the bells using basic spell in a certain order. I search and search the whole Music Room to no avail. The only clue was the Frog Choir. You have no idea how many times I played the frog choir, thinking there must be a clue in it.

I honestly got to level 30 before I finished the first trial. It's crazy how good the world is. It was a solid 30 + hours before I was tired of exploring and decided to go do some quests again.

I've been playing RPG since 1985, the thing to do was grind and do sub quests. My old bad habits leaves me this kind of thing happening with every modern RPG I currently playing. NPC: "I'm looking for my family heirloom for 20 years." Me: "Oh, you mean this one?" NPC: "Wtf, where did you get that?"

I had this same problem with Deek's breeding quest, I already had 2 thestrals and had collected a lot more and sold them, but the two i had kept ended up both being female. Deek wouldnt show me where the thestrals were so i just had to go back to the habitat and keep trying until i got a boy. (also pretty sure the "thestrals near hogwarts" had already been captured by me when a went down there with Natty because i checked there first and they hadn't responed...)

In AC odyssey, if you complete a quest before starting it, you have a specific line where your character says : « i’ve already did that »

After I did the big boss battle and defeated Ranrok, whenever I slaughter a Loyalist camp I always find it hilarious when my character goes, 'Your blood is on Ranronk's hands', or 'you have one less follower, Ranrok!' like bruh he dead you killed him. Though I did find one line that said, from one of the goblins at Rookwood Castle, 'Ranrok's Loyalists will always fight for what he believed in'.

I did the same thing. When I found the bells. I did the puzzle thinking I'd get a secret chest or something. Tho when completing it. All it did was play a little jingle. So I just figured it was an Easter egg until I got this quest and realized I completed a future quest. I did this for a few side quests actually. With some of the tombs and dungeons. Already completing them before the quest then getting the quest and having it already completed

These bells lead me to the wrong conclusion during some other treasure hunting quest with bells, I've got here to Hogwarts thinking these are the bells I needed to ring for the quest, but I was wrong, there were 9 on the image. I've lost several hours trying to solve it, and then I found out these are the wrong bells.

A couple times a completed quests before I even talked to the person who initiated the quest. That’s when I decided to not get too into exploring. I beat the main story line the other day since then I just been exploring and doing any side quests I haven’t done yet. I’m in RavenClaw and I want to start a game as hufflepuff so I can go to Azkaban.

Yup I did this one weeeeeell before it actually popped up as a quest as well. Put the bells up and was like "ummm is this it? That's all? Weird secret but whatever." Then I got the quest a long while later and laughed.
