Lol I mean, ngl, it’s true for many of us who grew up with poor parents. Some of them had us earlier than they shoulda. Many of them didn’t bother finish school or go to college etc. If we hold them to the same standard many of them hold us to most of the time, then the “joke” is just him speaking straight fax, even if it sounds harsh and they continue to struggle often for our sake, doesn’t make the cause of said struggle less true.
@BTrain-is8ch3 жыл бұрын
@@twdjt6245 It's my experience that good parents hold their children to a higher standard, whether or not they would have satisfied that standard themselves, because it's their job to push their children to do better and to avoid the mistakes they made. Income/net worth isn't even relevant. Unfortunately, kids don't typically get the perspective necessary to realize that's what's going on until they're older so they make oblivious "jokes" like this one. It'd be a special kind of stupid for any parent of any child to say "Yeah, you can do exactly what I did. Mistakes and all. That's good enough."

Talk to them and let them know. My parents let us know when things were bad. At the moment we may have hated it or believed they just didnt want to buy us stuff but as we grew up it made us respect and love them even more because we realized what they meant and we realized how hard it must have been for them to admit to their kids that they were struggling.
@steezyonyoutube98963 жыл бұрын
Most kids just wanna be actually loved. If you do that they will ride by you thru whatever. My dad was never well off, but he managed to do what he needed to do, he was always hard working for us and most importantly he was always, pleasant, fair loving and kind. So nothing financial ever really mattered. The times he didn't have money for something he just didn't have it and it was fine.
@trevorveillette84153 жыл бұрын
I'm 18, and maybe I'm a little more aware than others my age. But my dad is poor, and he has told me so multiple times. But despite that, he always gets me what I ask for, as long as I'm not asking for something crazy. He does his best, and I recognize that because despite his income and the size of our family, he's made me so happy and given me such a comfortable life compared to what others go through. Once I started working the same job he's been working the past 6 years of his life, I understood him better. Or at least understood what he goes through. The job isn't hard for me, but I've had tough days, and understand the exhaustion that both a busy day, and a slow day can cause. Working helped me realize that everything I have except what I've bought for myself, is because of him, and being at work made me realize that this is what he has to do in order to make my wishes and my siblings wishes come true. Hopefully when your kids reach my age, if they haven't already, and start working, they'll come as close to understanding you and what you've done for them as they can, without having kids of their own yet. And if you've got boys, they'll especially understand, since they will be fathers like yourself. I know I don't fully understand my dad's struggles and don't fully appreciate him yet, but that will come later in life when I'm his age and doing what he does now. Dad's are the unsung heroes of family's. Love ya dad
