When You Get It Right | Taj Falaknuma

Somehow when we shoot a wedding we can’t help but get drawn into the story of the couple. And sometimes, it feels like we were always a part of the story. This happened to us at Sindhura and Vasisht’s wedding at the heritage palace hotel, Taj Falaknuma Palace, in Hyderabad, perched 2000 feet above the city, a jewel amidst the clouds! It all started when by some weird coincidence, Vasisht (the would-be Groom) reached out to Akash wanting to document their wedding, while we were in Falaknuma shooting yet another one (Our first ever wedding in Hyderabad, we have covered so many since then and each time is a delight!). Now, Vasisht acts as fast as he speaks, and so when he saw us in action at this shoot, he immediately chose us (the cupid being the team working their magic)! The first pre-wedding function was Pellikothuru, more like the haldi ceremony, which is also called the mangal snaanam taking place at their houses, where the respective families apply a paste of turmeric and oil onto the would-be bride and groom. This turns real fun when they start playfully splashing water on each other. Then came the sangeet with a host of performances, adorned with pyros and confetti. The smiles around us were countless and we had a ball capturing the vibrant and beautiful couple's whirlwind romance.The mehendi was a colourful affair with the contagious fragrance of henna mixed with warmth filling the air.
It was followed by a traditional telugu wedding at night, since they follow the lunar calendar. Our favourite moment was Talambralu - the most entertaining shower, where both of them hailed pearls and rice mixed with saffron and turmeric on each other, the most playful ceremony.
Sindhura looked like an absolute doll at the reception and Vasisht was at his handsome best, with his hair spiked up of course! Oh yes, he was particular about his hair but it all gets very mushy when Vasisht sit's for his interview and gets super emotional. We love the way he speaks about Sindhura and all the good things she has brought into her life It was a wedding that was all love, filled with everyone loved and dear!
