As an ex-employee from Apple I can 100% confirm this lol, we don’t make commission and the main goal isn’t to sell you the most expensive device, but the one that will fit your needs. Even tho I hate selling in general, I’d always ask what the person do, for fun, for work and etc to figure which device might fit your need.

Honestly same at Best Buy. No commission. So many people make returns and margins on big ticket electronics for the retail store is already thin. So the goal becomes to sell them something they won’t return, and attach accessories. But yeah glad I don’t work in “sales” anymore lol.

Got really lucky the other day. Bought AirPods Max new, but open box from Best Buy for $400 (still expensive, I know 😂). The problem is, the previous owner had paired them to their phone and never removed it from their Apple ID, which isn’t something that support can fix. Upon even further inspection, the serial number on the headphones didn’t match the one on the box or on the receipt. I took it back to Best Buy, and their customer service was amazing. Just explained my issue and they gave me an entirely new pair without charging me for the higher price.
