I was in a very similar situation to the funeral example, I’m the middle of three sons. It was a case of if I don’t do it, it won’t get done. Happy to carry the burden so that my brothers could grieve.

absolutely friends are seasonal, for me at least. Most school friends are no longer friends, most uni friends are no longer friends. Is what it is. Once you lose proximity to people, the friendship inevitably ends. It's only a few who you remain in contact with

A lot of times, the younger brother’s thrive more BECAUSE they observed the mistakes of the older brother. That means the older brother DID influence the younger brother, even if indirectly - respect should be put on them for that.

This is big man talk I like it! I agree that friends are seasonal but in the sense of you have certain friends at certain points in your life and there are friends that you’ll have throughout all periods of your life.

Money would change you, depending on how much we're talking, if you get a substantial amount of money, you won't do what you would have regularly been doing.

25:00 40 year olds doing this is kinda funny. This happened to me in my teens & I never mentioned it. I just no longer considered that person a friend. Still talked to them here & there

I hear those parameters for friends but in my area there are people that I used to be friends with from school. I know their mum, know where they live but we don't really talk and I would consider them more someone I know. Would they still be my friend cos if you live in the area you grew up in, it's more than likely you know where they live and their family.
