Tim actually considers himself really lucky and has had a very privileged life. His "pain" is mostly just him mocking grunge music. Trying a new piece in a small venue actually has relatively low risk. Worst case scenario a few people walk out. But even the weirdest artists have people they can bounce their work off of before they perform it to the public, and you can tweak and change the material over multiple times performing it until it works for you and the audience
@maddieb.4282 Жыл бұрын

As someone with a personality disorder, this hit on so many levels, up to and including my father never attended my performances. It’s wonderful how he is able to show how hard it is to mask, and when we are shut down for masking, it’s even more difficult. We all just do the best we can. Sometimes that isn’t good enough, but someday it will be good enough for someone and that is all that really matters. ❤

I need to get back into playing piano, and I can tell you that many (if not most) people can’t just play by ear. To be able to play by ear takes having a musical propensity and then learning to use some kind of instrument (even learning to use one’s vocal chords) to get just a sense of the notes that you might hear.

Not only does this guy go hard, so does his phrasing. As a violinist, commendable.
@salmiak3338 ай бұрын
His performance is great, but it's even funnier when the notes have things like "formulate plan to stop audience clapping", "sloppy side key", "almost loose crowd with spicy jazz chords", "win crowd back with RAPID blues lick", "smash, feel free to add some wrong notes" and my favourite "oh NO!! he just BLUES'ed BEETHOVEN!"... written into it. 😂 So thank you for the note sheet!

When KZbin tries to get me to listen to an artist I'm not familiar with, I rarely listen for more than a minute or two. I know what I like and don't like. This video is the first bit of music that's new to me that I've stuck with in a long time. I listened to the whole damn thing and loved every minute of it. Man, that blues piano, boy... I can't believe there's any debate about whether this guy's "good" at piano or not. I'm surprised so many musically inclined people-artists, supposedly-can't tell the difference between skill and classical training. They're not mutually inclusive. He's playing extremely well, entertaining people, and enjoying doing it. I can't imagine what else they want from him. What a legend.

He is also an actor, writer and director. He splits his time between many different things, yet still accomplishes this level musically...and is mostly self taught. He is outspoken on things like religion, science and philosophy. Listen to his beat poem "Storm." His newer music is a little less edgy (intentionally) but always great lyrically and often with elements of irony. He wrote the music to Matilda the Musical. Watch the video to "School Song" where the entire alphabet is incorportated throughout the lyrics.
