@ajtmex True SP's version sounds better because it's a studio version. He never did it live...doubt he could at this point anyway. But Arnel does a smashing job of it live...got to give him credit....

As it does on the Revelation CD of the new songs...even on the one of the classics, I don't think he really sounds like Perry copycat...infact, he surpasses Perry by far...which is why the album went Platinum...

I wouldn't pay to watch SP to sing these day. He had a concert in 1994 singing Journey song and he butchered the song. AP is the next best thing and the best live now.

With AP's soaring voice, he makes all cover songs, remakes, sounds good or better. The new songs bears his signature and may be hard to imitate. My fav Zoo covers: Amazing (Aerosmith), Oh Darling-NDGomez777 wife's fav too (The Beatles), Alone (Heart), The Flame (Cheap Trick), Rock 'N' Roll, Black Dog (Led Zeppelin), Amazing (Aerosmith), Ever Since the world Began & The Search is Over, to name a few, and of course all the Journey covers. Go through these and be prepared to appreciate AP more!

SP is a Rock God and will always have a special place in many hearts and deserves the respect of all rock music loving savants. But this AP is an incredibly soulful, goosebump raising, soaring rock n roll voice with so such depth and emotional range that to compare him to another Journey singer isn't fair to the other guy! After hearing SPs terrific version of this song on UTube and then hearing this, I realized he isn't a great SP, he's a great, one and only AP, in a vocal class by himself!

Why compare AP with SP, when AP is a replacement of JSS, not with SP? Does this mean, SA and JSS are not worth-mentioning as part of Journey history? IMO, that's not a fair comparison. Anyway, whatever... Irrefutable fact remains... AP with Journey is blasting stadiums after stadiums after stadiums!!!The tour's about to end, and yet people (pro-AP and not) are still fussing about it!!!If that's not a phenomenon, then I do not know what it is anymore. OMG! This is just what many of us have been waiting and watching to see and hear. Wish they had been singing this, and Feeling That Way when I saw them, but, at least I have the videos now. There is one other of this song, posted from the same night. The audio on yours is great.What more can be said about Arnel's voice? There are no new adjectives to describe it. Thanks! The Casio Exilim armed with 4gigabytes didn't quite do justice on the video but at least the audio is not harsh like other recorders. I was surprised I was able to get the whole Journey concert with still a lot of room to spare.

Yes, but the battery use for the Journey itself is 75%. You might need to change battery during the break after 2 hours of use.

brianwhitely101, you're listening to Arnel almost at the end of a 69 concert tour, when the poor guy has already had a few bouts with illness. Not only that he's pretty tired at this point. You'd be exhausted too, and not at your par. Wait till he returns from hiatus to kick butt again..you'll be pleasantly surprised. Check him out on the Revelation album, the decide whether SP is still better, or even at the beginning of the tour...Listen with an open mind...nuff said.

If you watch him when he was singing with the zoo, "Forever",:"I wont hold you back" "Flame" theyre better than the origs. thats not even in the rec. studio.

I have to say that I thought to myself "I didn't know that Journey did this song live. I thought they never toured with Trial By Fire?" The video is very grainy. Then I am thinking wow something is wrong here. Steve sounds so tired. Where is the brilliance in his voice? I go back and check and lo and behold it is Arnel. Now I know why it sounded so wrong.
