I am grateful for these great women because they are the only inspiration I have. I understand what J was saying about being mad and disappointed and not wanting to hear that worship music and not wanting to sing it either. I felt that in my soul because I am going through that right now and I am a worship leader in my church as well. When she said it I started bawling like if someone died ( I would say cry but that implies that it was "cute" and it wasn't) and I know it is time to do my part and take that first step out and declare God's truth over my life. I am so glad to hear the honesty and I'm encouraged to not let this pit take me out. I don't know you guys but I feel close to you and I love you all. I pray that God continues to use you to encourage women everywhere.

I ate salmon& broccoli and yellow rice & mix vegetables and rice thank you for this Word today. I got up and mopped and clean my room . I have been struggling with depression and anxiety ! Some things what I’m going through it ! I thought I was alone and a lot of people call me noisy but I’m a caring person and I was angry and disappointed with a lot of things and I was listening to worship music then something happened Sunday and I got depressed and anxious about a situation! I’m so happy to hear for this beautiful encouragement of word and hearing the music and sermons that is how I have been getting through it ! I love you all for this pod cast and helping get out of this dark place! I have been shamed by trying to be supportive but got accused of the opposite and maybe I didn’t say the right thing.. I wasn’t doing it on purpose I was having a really bad week and got a visit from a bipolar girl who was bieng abused by her dad and she is having a hard time she doesn’t listen to her therapist and misses therapy on purpose and then I was going through a lot all of sudden I get a call from someone who was sick and I didn’t know she was sick so the day I called to check o. Her I barely made it out of bed that day ! I have a tendency to be the caring person and empathetic person and people come and take it out on me

This is so good! I'm so grateful to see and hear teaching about depression, what it is and what it isn't. There is new information about it and there is treatment of needed, and more mature spiritual guidance. It can be deadly if left alone or ignored. True, that was the answer in the past. It's not necessary to give in and give up now though.

I was terribly depressed when I was 18. This was the 'kickback' from much abuse and control from my Dad and brother. I finally left home and got a little flat/apartment....and I started to slowly craaa a a a ash...... sweating profusely and headaches, didn't have the confidence to even get a job - never mind go for interviews. !?! The Doctor put me on 'Ativan' - antidepressants. I did not even know what tablets were for - he didn't tell me. I got worse, gazing into the mirror ...was like looking for miles n miles, I could not stay outside without needing to go home or stay at gatherings or parties without feeling self conscious and crying. Then after one night when I felt like my brain was draining through the pillow....my friend made sure that she weaned me off the meds - from 3 to 1 - then none. I gradually improved after my Stepsister came and took me home with her, to the other end of the country -and helped me build my life, bless her. ;) I needed a complete..change.

It’s the time between WHEN the weight of depression BEGINS & when it FINALLY LIFTS … where WISDOM NEEDS to rise UP!! The wisdom to seek counsel; to call a friend; to actively pursue your relationship with Jesus through prayer, praise music & listening to groups/leaders like THIS!!! Personally going through depression after my first of four children; depression from a life-changing car accident; depression from a journey with Stage 2B breast cancer; to depression from my mother’s death … I’ve HAD IT!!! And the “hero” of my story (if there is one) was time LACED in wise decisions. Decisions leading to action steps that slowly encourage your soul to RISE ABOVE the weight of depression. It is a process. It does take time. And IF you do not have the wisdom needed to “become free” of that heavy burden … FIND someone who does!!! Pray for God to direct you to someone with that ability. Wisdom was the life preserver that helped me reach the shore (cause it takes time) to achieve RELIEF from the HOLD of depression. Cause there is RELIEF/healing from those “chapters” of depression withIN your story. Promise✨✨✨

I have to constantly (chose ) to think of what I am thinking when I feel myself feeling down. Then I see what I am thinking is what is making my situation worse lol. Then I chose to rethink what I want to think by renewing my mind ,putting good thoughts I want for my day inside my mind instead. Because Jesus lives, I have a future hope and my life is worth the living just because he lives. Thank you ladies, thank you Michelle for your testimony . Thank you Joyce and most of all.. I read that "According to Sonja Lyubomirsky, happiness is 50 percent genetically predetermined, 10 percent life circumstances, and 40 percent the result of someone's personal outlook." Thank you Michelle and Joyce Meyer family for this much needed message and tools to help us with what we can change. When you feel hopeless know there is hope! Hang on. God, music, prayer, therapy, reading, medication, etc can help. One day at a time. Love and Blessings

Thank you SO much for this. I’ve been suffering from depression since I was 12. When I rededicated my life to Christ last year; I got so much better.. But this month it just kicked in, I literally stay in bed all day, like Michelle said the most important task of the day is brushing your teeth. But what touched me the most was the Dr. talking about antidepressants. My parents wanted me to take them last year, and I refused and insisted on healing through Christ, because I was afraid of the stigma, my family and people called me crazy and I just didn’t want to confirm it, but what I have learnt is that they’re just medicine to help neutralize my mind because sometimes it just flips; and I don’t know what to do. Thank you Michelle and my sisters for the transparency, FOR THE FIRST TIME I DONT FEEL ALONE, I actually feel understood!! 😭🥺🙏 Shalom!

I like the we have to care… I would also add that we MUST HEAR GOD… not every battle is ours. Not every friend and/or family member is our assignment. Be sure that God has put His name on it or it can take both of the parties down. We often try to “help” and it’s not helping… it’s playing God.

I am thankful for this discussion and it's all round coverage of the subject. But I find it unfortunate that when Joyce touches on the subject of depression she often if not always links it with self-pity. It may well be that there is a type of depression which is linked to the latter but there is also depression where the core issue is not self-pity and it is unhelpful for many whose depression is described in this way. At one time I thought I knew about depression, that is until I hit a major episode myself. Thankfully I came through that episode. One thing I decided and asked God that I would do is never forget those would be experiencing what I was at that time. and that I would always pray for the depressed.
