Honestly, I personally do not understand why cannibalism is not allowed in war conditions on the front, when resources are scarce or it is possible that they may be scarce in the upcoming future. From a tactical and survivalist point of view, cannibalism makes sense. Do you have any idea how many soldiers would not have died of starvation and how many battles would not have been lost due to soldiers being weakened by lack of food if they had eaten human flesh in the absence or shortage of other food resources. Wars are not won on empty stomachs.

It reminded me of my friend's comment, how setting up an ideology with Cannibalism as acceptable in RimWorld makes the food part of the game WAY easier. Middle of winter, your settlements is starving, because the crops were killed by a disease during the summer. And then an enemy raid shows up, and everyone gets excited. "Food!" ;)

Cannibalism rarely work in real life. The problem is that people wait until people begin to die of starvation. The result is horribly weakened people trying to survive by eating equally malnutritioned bodies. The nutrient equation isn't worth it if you spend just as much energy as you get. So from an nutritional standpoint people should eat others at the first sign of hunger. Just as in this video. 😅
