Our school had a direct rivalry with another school as we competed in competitions against each other in both sports and intelligence competitions. It runs so deep that our parents even had the rivalry and would send their kids to a specific school because they didn’t want their kids being called the name the other school gave them and such. The teachers and school board also knew this apparently because they always scheduled us to go to the same field trip at the same time and we would have mini school gang wars and competitions on the field trips which made the trips better tbh. Such as the tree rope walk where we would try to do better than the other school
