But if I see any one speaking kannada...always feel like meeting my close friends..but never seen a kannada girl or boy working in Chennai ever complained about the hot climate..you can differentiate friends from all states but not kannadigas..they are one of us.

I got a chance to work with people from all four south Indian states and north Indians.. Trust me kannadigas are the most wonderful and loving people.. unlike others they never showoff nor complain about anything.

Kannadiga here. Came here as KZbin suggested it. Most of the points on kannadigas are true. I felt culturally, most of things are common in Tamil and Kannadigas. In my office(Bangalore) we kannadigas always encouraged Tamils to learn Kannada and they have aced it brilliantly. Also , when we all came to Chennai/Pondicherry for office off site or for work we put honest effort to speak in Tamil while speaking to locals. We have coexisted like more than 1000 years. We should have mutual respect, leaving solving disputes in amicable manner.Cheers!!!

I'm a kannadiga living in Bangalore but I've lived in Chennai for a year as well . I can speak both the languages fluently . One observation : YOU GET RESPECT FROM THE LOCALS WHEN YOU CONVERSE WITH THEM IN THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE . Even if it's broken . Attempt matters . Tamilnadu people are damn sweet . Never faces a single issue when I was there except the 2016 floods xD

My mother tongue is bhojpuri and hindi but I have lived for long time in South India and so I know even Tamil to speak very well and even Kannada so I love South India also very much but ultimately we should always know that we should be proud to be Indian each and every culture is beautiful in its own way whether it might be of South India or North India we all are rooted to one culture that is our Sanskrit. or we can say Bharat Mata. Bangalore is the only city in India, who welcome all the language people from different states. Anybody can live there and you feel comfortable. You go to a market people will talk in Tamil, you take a auto they will talk Hindi and English. Even the basic vegetable sellers to cab drivers will communicate in all languages, but it’s not the same in Chennai or any other state, based on me travelling most places in India. Proud to be a Bangaloren /Kannadiga though my native is Tamil Nadu !!

Bengaluru has welcomed everyone with open arms in terms of business opportunities and residential settlement. My native state is Tamil Nadu and I felt this video offensive. I really respect Bengaluru, it's people and try my best to offer my services for the community. I have started to learn Kannada purely out of respect for the fact that they are helping me grow further in life . The people here are really very down to earth and ready to help beyond political and lingual boundaries. This is reflected in actor Simbu's reaction to the Kaveri incident. I genuinely feel it's no longer Kannadiga, South Indian or even Indian but it's human beings and living within our mother earth in harmony. I really despise such feuds and responses and hope that brothers and sisters from Karnataka don't get hurt by this cultural insensitivity. And finally I do not encourage people commenting on Chennai or a matter of fact any city where we have come for business/employment/settlement . We should always respect the local community and places who are instrumental in our development.

@@abhishekchandrappa5384 bro I am a Kannada brahmin..for mothertounge I should learn Kannada and for my caste I should learn Sanskrit..But I have learnt Tamil and Hindi .....in my school in TN.I am in Bangalore and people were speaking in Kannada but I can't understand because I didn't speak for many years .I almost forgot . Sanskrit is just a language for gods and recitation. This language is being humiliated, and forcing in temples for translation to other languages. Slowly Tamil is making a comeback just like Hindi to demolish other languages.

Don't Compare Kannada and Tamil language similarities.. Actually Tamil is similar to Malayalam and Kannada, Telugu is little similar... I don't know, we kannadigas always have a good relationship with Telugu and Malayalam.. But not with Tamil people... Probably it is due to Politics... But now it is changed in Bangalore.. But I do believe, language is deeply rooted to culture. if one language is taught across country for the use of "common language" and if all next generation tamilians learn hindi, people prefer speaking hindi. If hindi starts to be majorly spoken in a place, the businesses are going to adopt hindi. You know how so many north indian languages have shrunken by just the use of vast hindi in the past 3 generations due to radio and television. I dont want the same to happen to my state.
