Just happened to me, maybe a little different but I was quite shocked when I won, because I never did before. I was even aiming for jean so that I perform the sunfire team. I was I bit too surprised to be happy for a moment.

The opposite happened to me, I got a jean constellation in 5 pity after getting raiden while I was aiming for raiden constellation. Atleast I'll have a guranteed limited 5 star.

Same happened to me, I was building pity( I usually get 5 stars after 70+ wishes so I thought I am fine ) and then I saw the golden glow at 65 fates in...got c1 albedo

i got raiden shogun immediately after the final boss fight in the archon quest and was like “wouldn’t it be ironic if I pulled her right now?” I got her. no pity, i pulled her randomly from the primos i got by defeating her. i am still shook.

I had a similar situation. Spent 2 days fishing for The Catch in multiplayer, ended up R5'ing it, then an hour after that I finished some quest, got primogems enough for 1 pull, then got Engulfing Lightning at 14th pull from weapon banner. Yes I have C0 Raiden as well, so I am happy.

This happened to me with Kazuha, I really liked him but I wanted to skip him for Ayaka. I did some single pulls so I can get some Starglitter to buy the monthly fates, then I suddenly got Kazuha, no pity and won 50/50 for the first time ever. But I'm really glad that I got him

Happened to me a week ago, except that I got mona instead of raiden lmao. I was initially building to feed my gambling addiction and then at the 55th pull the light turned gold and at that time I'm happy with whoever I get cause it's a win win situation for me. Turns out it was mona so it made me happy cause that means I'm guaranteed ayaka! (I lost to qiqi during ayaka's first banner so I'm pulling for her this rerun)

I think players can only understand the happiness we feel after they too didn’t get the character they wanted but saved so much for, then having them guaranteed and finally being able to pull for them without breathing in constant fear they might not even get who they want so desperately As a non native speaker my English isn’t perfect but I feel like I am good with words here lol

My plan was to skip this batch but when the banners released I couldn’t resist not pulling for koko I loved her strategic mind in the story/ her gameplay role also.. So I pulled with no expectations of winning, I was just would love to get a catalyst hydro user weather it was mona or kokomi.. It would be win-win even though I would love also to guarantee the upcoming chara like ayato, ayaka but also getting koko would be perfect for my future moragana team I reached the soft pity then I kept pulling single pulls cuz I didn’t have a ten pulls and then I got kokomi in single pull.. I was shocked but happy with her at the same time😭I won 3 50/50 so far, two of them were in a single pulls.. I’m looking forward to have her with ayaka in the same team🥰 I will also continue building her as a healer/ ATK buffer and can’t wait to see her max potential Anyways I kept building pity in raiden banner in a hope of losing or winning in early pity and I reached 45 with nothing so I stopped and start saving instead cuz I don’t want to get raiden

Advice to anyone this hasn't yet happened to: If you're saving just don't pull. Pity is an illusion designed to make you think you're in control. You are NEVER in control and you WILL be in a situation where you want to win the 50/50, but not only will you lose, but now you need 90 more wishes because of course your luck is bad when you need it most.

I hope this get upvoted (maybe even pinned?) Building Pity is not the same thing as wishing for the 4*s on the banner. Even if you get the 5* character you want, and then continue to wish on the banner, so that you can get more of the 4*s.... that is NOT "Building Pity". Building Pity is more like an addiction to wishing in the game. You get the 5* you want...but you love wishing and want to keep doing it, and you tell yourself "I'll just keep wishing and see what I get (like opening blind bags/boxes irl) and stop before I get anywhere near 90 wishes". This happened to me on Yoimiya's banner. I wanted both Yoimiya and Sayu. I got Yoimiya first... so I kept wishing to get Sayu. I ended up getting another Yoimiya before I got Sayu. I was NOT "Building Pity".

When you wish to lose 50/50 but mihoyo wants you to win 50/50 so you cant get the character you want to pull in next banner. And when you want to win 50/50 mihoyo make you lose instead.
