I've been bitten by a stray before. do not underestimate how strong their jaws are. felt like a vice grip was squeezing me, and I haven't begun to talk about what its teeth did to my fingers. Neither do i, but i have a street cat i pet everytime i go out. Down my street, always happy to see me. So much so that he doesnt let go when i have to leave him. Kinda have to convince the little bugger with more little pets till i can get away lol. You can pseudo-adopt one like that. Pet him when you want, but without having to keep him inside.

I've seen friendly big dogs. The problem they pose is that in their eagerness to play and say hi to everyone they meet, they don't realize how strong they are. Even a play bite can break the skin, and if they jump those claws don't feel too good either.

That may have been from the only documented cat caused human death unfounately and it was a cat who slept on top of a baby by accident, probably tried to keep them warm. Though don't get the wrong assumption, because dogs are the 4th highest animal to human deaths (mainly children/infants).

Not a cat person, but I like seeing people who actually interact with their cats. Most times when I see someone with a cat it just there, well people do that with dogs to be fair. Why have a pet if you are not going to socialize with it?

Cats have boundaries, Dogs usually do not. You actually gain better skills socializing by respecting its boundaries, like most people. Dogs are just immediate but no actual effort, but can be a hassle for that attention and not to mention overall maintenance. Plus if you really have a cat's trust, it's a whole different world.

I agree, while cats are by far much safer than dogs by any means. Its very irresponsible to leave your child next to animals for a long period of time especially if they're sleeping. You don't know whenever or not if the dog might snap or if the cat sleeps on top of the infant to keep it warm, while also accidentally suffocating them (which unfortunately was the only 1 time death by cat in human statistics).
