@@arminarlert1953 So Trickstars is a deck that inflicts a lot of small instances of effect damage in reaction to their opponent doing a variaty of things, but the most notorious being in retaliation for card draw which usually the deck can have means of forcing the opponent to do. Playing Maxx-C against trickstars is fairly suicidal because as the deck that can already inflict a lot of damage using it's own tools, the Maxx-C just gives them a very easy and unavoidable trigger for their burn damage that they can use for their own.

Got a question. Trickstar Festival summons two tokens, but I only saw Maxx C trigger once. Does the Maxx C effect trigger on each special summon (in which case, the whole chain of Maxx C -> Lycoris -> Light Stage -> Dark Room loop would repeat a second time for a second time), or does the two token summons count as a single effect trigger due to the Maxx C wording "each time your opponent Special Summons a monster(s)"?

The latter. Because of Maxx C’s wording (Each time your opponent special summons a monster *(s)* ), if something special summons more than one monster at a time it counts as a single draw. So Festival, which has the effect of “Special summon 2 Trickstar Tokens”, makes you draw 1 card from Maxx, whereas Lycoris bounce makes them draw 3 since it’s 3 separate Special Summons. Trickstar’s definitely the worst deck to Maxx C against since they WANT you to draw cards to burn you to oblivion. Going off of 1 Trickstar Festival alone, they can make you draw 5 cards if you use Maxx C, 7 if they go into Crimson Heart. Which considering Lycoris + Light Stage + 1 Nightmares is a 1000 damage per Card for each Lycoris, yeah, that’s a lot of burn…

Maxx C is each TIME a summon happens. Since the 2 tokens are summoned simultaneously, it's 1 "time". To add on; Lycoris' effect was each 1 single special summon, since it was 3 seperate effects, which results with 1 draw after each summon, which in turn procs all the currently summoned ones. If they hadn't maxx c'd though that hand was Ripe to OTK regardless; 2 Tokens means 2 Links which will each be 1 draw, plus a Holly Angel to add on, which would've gotten a HUGE amount of attack here.
