When I Travel The World, no limousine service to SAN and from LHR, no onboard shower facilities, no private apartments; no onboard chef or 5-star catering leaves one with the impression that BA's fares are nothing short of extortionist. However, one supposes that customers are paying duties on Brexit.

Your 100% correct mvbo31, the price is crazy, however "When I Travel The World" does not set the product, standards or price. I think your stuck in a Middle Eastern airline mode, limousine service, shower facilities, private apartments and on board chefs are fantastic, but strangely, none of them fly to this airport. Only British Airways fly where others fear, hats off to WITTW and BA, great video and a massive thanks.

Great review and great use of symbolism: San Diego is about the only place I know where you can see that the plane flying overhead to land is the same one you intend to fly out on and still feel relaxed enough to finish your drink! :D

lol that is very true. I could have left that bar about 1hour and 30 minutes before the departure time and still visited the lounge before boarding for my flight. It's really great if you not into airports and waiting around.

Bottlecraft is such a great spot. It is my go-to spot. I live about 15 miles north and I come down there often to drink good beer and watch planes. However, during Covid, most of the planes are 737's, which can be a bit boring

Flying over the pond in first class the airlines to recommend are Air France, Lufthansa or Swiss. Many European airlines like KLM, Iberia or Alitalia do not offer first anymore. Business class is their best cabin.

I snagged a BA First Class roundtrip ticket from SJC to Sofia and Prague via LHR next fall for $3,600, $200 less than I've paid for Business to LHR alone or to Athens. It's all about planning and timing. Also, having used the BA website, I think those prices ($14,652 and $11,911) are ONE WAY, as each flight (outbound and inbound) is listed, priced, and selected individually. I may be wrong, but in any event these are outrageous and only the 1% can afford them.

We have been 1st Class on BA A380, London to Singapore, food and service was terrible, we even had to make our own bed because they were not on the ball on what was going on, only 14 of us in 1st Class and they couldn’t service everyone properly. We have been on Business Class on other airlines with far better service. The Concord lounge at Heathrow was the highlight & lucky we didn’t pay for the flights as we used frequent flyer points.

Well, I learned a new word for turbulence (chop). I would be nervous flying into or out of San Diego, as the lone runway is less than 9500 feet long and there is a steep descent because of the nearby skyscrapers. It was an informative and amazing video.

I’ve done BA economy a few times to/from San Diego on both 777 and 747 as my head off is there, great airport to fly into. Only BA first I’ve experienced was A380 to, and 747 back from Johannesburg. Luckily all on avios.

Yeah SAN is always my first choice over LAX, mainly because all my friends are in SAN and its so much quicker when arriving from the UK to get through immigration.

This was quite interesting. I liked how you showed the service, the seat and amenities. It was a thorough tour. I wonder how much older though and less refined the seats etc are on the 747 I am flying in April! Both this 777 and A380 did not look bad. And I prefer a more open seat though I wish they had angled them to provide more width. Thank you.

Thanks Lara, glad you liked it. Personally the A380 and 787 First seats are my favorites then the 777's and then the 747's. Though its a fun experience being in the nose of the 747 in F, but the seats are a lot closer together due to airplane curve. I hope you have a great flight with them.

A most enjoyable video except for one thing. As an 86yo I have poor eyesight and have to pause the video to read the commentary. This causes the time line to appear and obscure the commentary. 11,000 for british airways is absolutely ridiculous. The business class seat on an airline like emirates beats this. And that costs around 2,000 one way. You can get a private suite onboard an a380 for 7. 11,00 is terrible

Seeing S.D. Airport Reminds me of the 80s & 90s when We used to fly back & forth from PHX to S.D. I always loved going out over the point & Sea of Cortez, best! This "Luxury Flight" wasn't nearly as nice as the Emitras & Eitenne Flights! Now THERE is Real Luxury! British has a Long Way to go! Even the Pre-boarding Longue is REALLY Below their standards! If you're paying nearly the same amount why not have More Luxury? Of course some do cost nearly $20k depending on where you're going! But all in all, your Video was well done, Edited Well & Informative! Hope you enjoy more interesting flights in the Near Future, so that we can enjoy the "Armchair Adventure" right along with you! So us a couple of good spots once you get to your Destination, too! Happy Trails!

Nice report! It is the first time since ANA's FCS I have seen the passengers windows pretty far away for window seats. Something you'd get used too I suppose! My daughter and I purposely checked the route of the 777 when we were flying on American Airlines (on flight benefits stand by) going from CID in Iowa to JAX Jacksonville, Florida. We flew to Dallas to get on the 777 to fly to Miami where it was routed, then had to hang out standby for couple full flights stuck in Miami (was actually ok with this) to then catch a flight from MIA to JAX, our actual destination. Working for Airlines and flying standby was the norm anyway and it was a must fly in the airplane!!!!

Thanks for the video which was good although I didnt enjoy watching it...reason ?.. I worked for BA all my career and when they were an airline to be proud of. Now I just get depressed seeing how they are letting the product slide into mediocrity. Somebody made the point that they must be doing something right as they are profitable. Well my view is they are trading on the historical strength of the brand, that took years to build, rather than the product offering, and as long as customers are willing to overpay then they will continue making money. That strategy is not sustainable though.

I just find the stored streams and download them, then I edit out all my flight details. Its actually a pretty long process and you have to find your flight.

Its nice on the 777-300ER in first on BA, but my personal fave on BA for first are the 787-9 and A380 first seats.

Overall, loved your video review of this BA Business Class product. Keep 'em coming. Just two small nits. 1) Your footage appears to be generally overexposed (too much light in some shots). Perhaps this could be fixed in post production or compensating for this during the filming? 2) Please provide us with your comments / opinion on the quality and taste of the food that was served. 'One' of the criteria I look at when choosing an Airline on a route that I fly on is the food served on-board. Would greatly appreciate your review on this. One of the reasons I normally avoid BA is the seating configuration on their airplanes. At least on this flight, this Business class arrangement appears to offer a more private seating arrangement. Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. The overexposure might have been because in post the footage was so dark, it might have been slightly over corrected in post, but thanks for the heads up. I really did enjoy the food on this flight, it was very enjoyable. Thanks for watching and the comment.
