Compared to other girls she has one of the most mature personality. She set aside her position as center once because Yujin would fit the image or concept more of aspiring girl. A sincere and pure artist would persist to lived the part and brings out a vulnerable part of them as result, like one akb girl in vocals. Years in industry made Kaeun thinks strategically or more group oriented. Even when she shines during ‘side to sides’ or in some numbers, it’s almost apparent she has lost some of her innocence, but the mature image should be her strength, esp. when being center. It may seem a bit skewed for izone’s image, but with Japanese ability and insights, you could imagine her being a true flower and special person with members. I don’t know if she sees beyond being an idol now, her mother did says that the fame never permanent, or she would come to settle down. She is an intelligent and keen lady. Hope she continue a good relationship with fans and gets to shine again on stage, or off.

yesss! you can really see this with bibian, noe, jurina, nako and hitomi. also, japanese trainees probably have a little bit of their training process dedicated to how to act on reality shows, etc. i guess j-pop focus more on idols being entertaining and looking like they have a real conection with their fans, while k-pop has more focus on their idols looking like perfect angels and flawless. they are both awesome tho! those things are what make the 2 genres different from each other, making it both enjoyable

My predictions Chaeyeon - Will debut as the leader of WM's new group ... they may launch similar to (G)I-dle and have Chaeyeon do some solo work to build excitement. I could also see Chaeyeon producing a nice body of solo work similar to Chungha or Sunmi if WM fears she will outshine her potential group mates. Minju - Will return to her acting and modeling career with possibly the occasional OST/solo release Chaewon - Will join Rocket Punch to increase their popularity. I believe she will also have a nice solo/OST career. Hitomi - She is, I believe, the most likely to sign with a Korean company and become part of a global K-pop group, maybe even with WM and rejoin Chaeyeon Hyewon - Could possibly be part of an 8D group but I think it's more likely she will move on to acting and modeling possibly singing son OSTs here and there Eunbi - Will go solo, at her age and skill level it is not likely for Woolim to build a group to capture her maturity and strength without it being Eunbi and her backup singers/dancers. She is well suited to be a Soloist/writer/producer Nako - While a cotinued presence in Kpop is possible, I think it is more likely that she will return to Japan and graduate from HKT and move on to acting and variety Yujin - The starship girls are the easiest to predict they will debut with Starship's new group and I am sure Yujin will continue filming CFs and will likely branch into acting eventually similar to Sejeong Yena - Has a lot of options. The common belief is she will be inserted in Everglow; the potential problem I see here is there is already a strong foundation built and I fear interrupting that similar to T-ara Hwayoung situation, but it may be that Yena's popularity just might be the final piece to the puzzle. Option 2 is I heard recently that Yuehwa is holding lightning auditions for only girls meaning they may be looking for talent to build a new group around Yena, but the problem with this is the difficulty of supporting 2 young groups at the same time. Option 3 is of course a solo career. Yena has the tools to succeed. She is laso varieth gold Yuri - Will either have to change companies if she wants to debut with a group or become a soloist with a focus on powerful emotional ballads Sakura - Even with the swirling rumors about her signing with Big Hit, I think Sakura is tired of the idol life and will pursue her first love: acting. Thant could be back in Japan or in Korea or more likely both. She has enough popularity to thrive in both markets. She would also have a brilliant variety career being a quirky, fun, witty, beauty. Wonyoung - As I mentioned with Yujin she will absolutely debut with Starship's new group. She will also continue modeling. I think she may also dabble in acting.

While I absolutely love the 48 groups, I feel like many of the girls that graduated realized through PD48 that they have more potential through other outlets. Especially since the 48 groups are so big, it is hard for each girl to get represented equally. But please don’t get me wrong, I love 48 and the concept, and I know it’s much different than Korean girl groups.

I surely understand what you mean. But I'd rather no comment on 48group or kpop comparison. I know there's a huge fans of 48groups and my thought is still subjevtive afterall. But I truly understand what you mean tho and I mostly agree. But on the brightside, every 48groups participants has a solid option to come back to their respective 48groups, but it's different story with the korean participants...most of them back to be trainee again (sad), left the company (so sad), or stopped pursuing idol career (irony). That's what came across my mind when I first saw this kind of survival show concept (Produce48) in 2018, confusing bc the background differentiation between japanese (48 idol) and korean (trainee) participants

To be fair, as an avid follower of 48 groups, most of the fans know that we will never get all of them being represented equally. The root of the problem is, the company themselves want us, the fans, to pick and choose our favorite. Literally voting who should be in senbatsu and such. It's basically saying "the lower votes you have, the less popular and important you are." which is sad because its not like they didnt work hard at all. On the other hand, while thats sad, 48group was never meant to be a full career. Sure some members last really really long in there, but the thing is, when you graduated, you already know the core of entertainment business. They could branch out in many places. Most of them study and find their path while they are in the 48groups. Actress, musicals, tv personality, producers and directors, livestreamers, models, newscasters, journalists, and so on. Meanwhile, most kpop idols, when they graduated/retired/disbanded, they need to do lots of part time jobs to find money or even start from the bottom, education, because most of them left their education path to pursue idol training, and they cant get any full time job without at least college education. It might be hard for them to be represented equally, but in a sense, its not like kpop always represent the members equally anyway. If its always equal, then when some members get solo works, all the member should too, but most group dont do that. Whhen there's photoshoot or acting stuff, only certain members are needed, that's not equal too. And lets not talk about line and screen distribution, because in kpop, favoritism is very apparent. The difference is, in 48group, we and the company acknowledge and profit from the favoritism while in kpop, favoritism is something that will only talked in the fandom, the whole company and even die hard fans wont even acknowledge or talk about it. I dont think pd48 gave the j idols ideas that they have potential through other outlets, because most of them know they need to branch out after they graduate, they already know they will graduate, thats 48 group for you, no matter what you will retire or graduate. But pd48 did gave them a lot of more opportunity that they didnt know, like Juri and Miyu graduating to pursue idol still, but in Korea. And some 48group members learning Korean and English and use them for communicating with fans more, and some even become a "teacher" for kpop and korean culture in some japanese tv show.

@@tokki2901 Equally is more like they have stable jobs as being part of all group comebacks, concerts and all group activities like CFs, photoshoots, magazines, get money from all merch etc, for akb, fans vote for this kind of things,if I'm not wrong, I'm pretty sure I heard that before pd48 Hitomi was never part of a leading single. Not all the members get a solo, not all are solo type, some prefer acting or modeling, also popularity play a role in solo activities too but unless the group has like a lot of members, in smaller groups (which is most of kpop), everybody get their chances, maybe not in their debut days but surely later.

Chaeyeon is actually confirmed to be in the line up of 6Dolls, Sakura is discussing a contract with BigHit, and the rest of the girl’s companies who wanted a contract extension were discussing a unit to continue half of Iz*One ! (also Yuehua, 8D, and StarShip are the companies that refused the extension meaning it most likely means they’re planning new groups with the members in it with the exception of Yena who might join EverGlow a group that already debuted)

Corrections: (this video was published feb. 25 2021 so that’s as current as it will be) - Purple Kiss released two pre-debut singles in 2020, but officially debuted in March 2021. - The Kim Nayoung who participated in Produce 48 is not the same Kim Nayoung who participated in CAP-TEEN, they just have the same name. Since she has her own Instagram account I’m not sure if she’s still a trainee, but I know she left Banana Culture. - Sakura and Nako are from HKT48, not AKB48. - There is another possibility that Kim Chaewon could join Rocket Punch. - Shiroma Miru will graduate NMB48 this summer, Murase Sae already graduated NMB48 and is now under a Japanese Entertainment company called Ten Carat. - Secret Number is not VINE Entertainment’s first group. - Heo Yunjin did not leave Pledis Entertainment. A correction: Sakura and Nako are not AKB, they haven't had a concurrent position in the mothership group for a few years; they are both from HKT48. J line absoluely won't join a Korean group without graduating from AKB (Hitomi) and HKT (Sakura and Nako) first. Sakura in particular will definitely be given a huge graduation concert because they will not let her go without a bang, they will want to bank on her graduation as well with a center position and graduation song in an HKT48 single, maybe with Nako if hey leave at the same time, and who knows how fast can that come since Jurina's graduation has been held off for a few months already due to the pandemic. And yes, Jurina hasn't graduated from SKE48 either, although her last single as a member has already been released.

unpopular opinion and I know that forevers and WIZ*ONES have mixed feelings about it, but I personally can't wait for Yena to debut in Everglow. I think that was the plan from the beginning, and also she has (seemingly) good relationships with the group. I think her voice would benefit the group, but I'd love to see her do singing as well. Maybe Onda will also finally get some lines.

For Hitomi, I think Korea or a Jpop group (not AKB) would be better for her. She really wasn't huge in Japan and in a small group she can shine more. Nako on the other hand was very popular pre-Iz*one and going back may boost her as she has benefited from more focus on growing her already great singing and dancing. So AKB, at least at first would be good for her. Though she is the perfect mix of Sana's (Twice) high voice, and Mina's (Twice) more ballet-focused dance background and in the right smaller group could REALLY shine. Sakura will succeed in anything she does, I just hope whatever she does she is treated right and enjoys it.

Produce 48 really made most of the contestants famous, the AKB48 girls all gained experience during the show and some of them debuted in Kpop groups while the Korean contestants found success as well even if they didn’t made it to Iz*one! *Don't forget YAMADA NOE from NGT48 is a BULLY* part of the group of members who gave Yamaguchi Maho's address to two men so they could assault her when she came back to her house (where you can't get in without someone who knows the place). Maho was also forced to APOLOGIZE like it was her fault and later graduated from NGT alongside with Hasegawa Rena who trusted her.
