I struggled to see the jack point on a dark winter evening, and with the car being so low I couldn't seem to get a light angled right to see it. I jacked it up on the side, found the jack point and circled it with some fluorescent spray paint. It's been much easier to find since. Thanks for the f22 videos!!

I saw another video of someone jacking up a X-Drive car, and they have a metal jacking point. I was SUPER frustrated trying to look for what the non X-Drive jack point looks like. After some pondering and jacking up the side of the car to take a good look underneath, I decided that that little hole must be the marker. since the M3 has something similar, but made of metal. thankfully you posted this video for anyone else trying to find it on their non X-Drive cars.

What are the weight recommendations for the jack and Jack stands if I'm only jacking the front of the car. If the total weight of the car is 1800kg then would I get away with a jack that is only recommended for let's say 1600kg ?
@FritzRamos

I should since it's never holding up the whole car. At some point the car is supported by the ground or your jack if you are lifting up the entire car.

@FritzRamos

There's plastic inserts at each corner,, you can't miss it. The car should be completely stable so long as you are not rocking it and the stands are of similar height.

@FritzRamos
@FritzRamos 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! If you don't plan to be under the car that should be fine. However, I would suggest that you ONLY lift that corner of the car (just the 1 tire you are changing) and prep everything close by so you reduce the time the jack is supporting the car. Did that help?
