I myself here in Alberta Canada grow grapes and make wine with heirloom varieties! We have a short intense season with 18hours of sun at the summer solstice. That season and our tough weather produces some great grapes !

Can you do a video about the "terroir" for corn, onions, or tomatoes? (Or grapes? You know, the kind you eat?) Seriously, why is it that the only time people care about "Terroir" " is when it's related to an ingredient for something to gets you drunk? (You and your guest are wine snobs?)

Try 'Cardinal' and some type of 'Isabella'(Isabella - the original. And/or, synonyms of a form of Isabella which is a genetic-mutation-sport of the original Isabella, it has larger fruit than the original Isabella: Pierce, Pierce's Isabella, California Concord)

what about the wines of virginia? you took the time to break down regional wines of california and oregon. yet the wines coming out of virginia were glossed over at best. it only takes a little looking into to learn that they are competitive on the world market. the national museum of american history in d.c. has a great exhibit on Virginian wine. not to sound mad i was just a little disheartened being a virginian myself.

Because they are small players when it comes to the United States 96% of all wine is made in california with small portions coming from Washington, Oregon, Texas and the eastern states.

@AlbertaUrbanGarden8 жыл бұрын
Plants like humans just want to have children. The more stress on a plant the harder it will work to successfully pass on its genome. Similarly hot peppers get hotter when you stress them out. Although that does not help them spread like grapes as we have been monkeying through selective breeding for other traits in hot peppers.
@JaneDoe-gg3ey8 жыл бұрын
+RagingBubuli Yeah, I think everything this woman says is bullshit. At least the "vine stress makes it more tastey".

"England is growing wine," with their climate(.....), it "must be" natural....(really: it could be) Really? It's the last country suitable for wine grapes.
@seanbailey3177 жыл бұрын
Actually Southern England has a very similar soil type and Sunlight hours as Northern France. Maybe slightly lower overall temps but only 1-2 Degrees cooler.
@fionafiona11465 жыл бұрын
Germany is pretty proud of our wine too (thought its mainly west of the rein River) and we being south of Northern France still grow on hillsides with higher than average sun exposure 😅
