No plaice in the river Humber, Lincolnshire coast and never seen one on the holderness coast. Always a flounder. Subs have taken off 👍

Think it's the spots that threw me off vern! Every time I go after the flatties, I research the differences, and as soon as I catch, it all goes straight out of my head 😄

Not been a subscriber long Ian but for sheer effort alone you and your Dad put in some unbelievable shifts in the hope of catching.Everybody blanks and in some of yours also but what I like about you two(dad) just how much you enjoy each others company with craic and banter and fish. Looks more flounder than plaice to me, probably has a bit of hybrid in it. Best way to tell is you can feel the spine on a flounder and the tail is bigger than a plaice. Tight lines.

Something I would try on the river is smaller hooks and baits ..no bigger than your thumb also try when you fish cart and squid turn your half squid inside out leaving the guts on the squid and elastic it up like that an old lad told me to do it this way....Worth a try....tight lines

@@theawfulangler I've not been for quite a few years myself, probably 2013 was the last time for me. Some friends of ours have just up sticks to Scotland, so a wee visit up there may be on the books. I used to fish off Leith and along the Edinburgh coast, all the way towards North Berwick. I had some lovely cod off the long harbour wall at Granton harbour. Just a thought if you venture back up to Scotland. Lincolnshire coast is my stomping ground now, only been here two years after moving from Sheffield, but so far it's had some good beach fishing. I've not tried the wall yet, it looks a bit too snaggy for my taste. But maybe one day....
@theawfulangler2 жыл бұрын
I gave the wall a go a fee months back but haven't had chance to venture back again. Was speaking to a couple locals, there was a bay that has a pipe running across it, marked with poles, other than that it'd pretty clean ground 👍🏼
