The film became the directorial debut of Leonid Bykov at the Kyiv Film Studio named after Alexander Dovzhenko in 1971.
Young musician Evgeny Kovalchuk falls in love with aeroathlete Yulia. The feelings are mutual, but Yulia does not dare to open up to Evgeniy. And here the famous but not yet old intriguer Doctor of Sciences Kresovsky (Leonid Bykov) stands in his way, also counting on Yulia’s reciprocity. Two knights of the same woman jump on rapiers and the duel ends with the wounding of the doctor of sciences. Because of the intrigues of the beaten doctor, Zhenya will be expelled from the institute's circles.

At first, the film’s script was called “Women Leave,” but the studio management saw a lot of drama in this title, so it was decided to change it. During the production of the film, footage from aerial filming of such films as “People Above the Clouds” and “Only Girls in the Sky” was used. The film features a song based on the verses of Sergei Yesenin “You are my fallen maple, frozen maple...”, as well as several songs by the poet Yuri Rybchinsky to the music of Igor Poklad: “Once upon a time there lived a king by the blue sea”, “Foggy birches go into the distance”, “Your name is lunar motif."
Film critics did not see success in the film; they found many shortcomings in it. There is information that Leonid Bykov even stopped believing in his directorial success, but we all know that later he would shoot more than one masterpiece, which is now a screen classic.
In the meantime, we wish you a pleasant viewing and pleasure from meeting the characters on the screen, who were so beautifully played by talented actors.
