I don’t see any evidence of what Ashley Cole has brought. I don’t see him animated at games. He’s been an influence all through the Rooney era and right through to relegation. I don’t care about his playing career if it doesn’t show a result now. It’s the same ‘autograph hunting’ as Rooney was. Maybe, just maybe it’s his contract that makes him stick around. No media presence, don’t hear players praising him. Don’t get it.

He was barely seen when Rooney was in charge but once Wayne left he was up on the touchline constantly. Comes across as a decent, knowledgeable bloke to have around the club
