Not really, the Normans clearly established themselves within England vs. ruling from Normandy - although England continued to hold territories in France until the end of the Hundred Years War, which is really the first point at which the idea of national identity started to end the phenomenon wherein a given feudal lord could easily pick up territories in both England and France (for example) without any sense of that being a problem. Europe and the world in general was just a lot more mixed up than suggested by our tendency to project back the later, very firm idea of nation states, ethnicities, etc.

England’s national flower is a Rose. There’s no given exact reason but for the first game agansit Scotland (in 1871) they used the Rose. There was a Rugby School founded and In 1559, Queen Elizabeth I gifted the school’s founder, Lawrence Sheriff, with a coat of arms that featured the red rose of Lancaster. And because that was its first ever rugby school it stuck.
