As you pointed out early in the video, you aren’t addressing 90+° water. Here in NC where I live on a small 63 acre pond, I find many bass in the 5 to 7 foot range with water temps in the low 90’s. The deepest part of the lake is about 20’ but the thermocline sets up at about 13’. I catch 90% of my fish dragging a wacky rig senko. The top water bite is basically non existent, the bass won’t chase down baits at all. I am looking forward to Matt’s “July” video to see what his HOT SUMMER patterns are. Keep the informative video content coming. Been a long Tim fan of your videos!

Different subject: I'd like to thank Tim helping me catch a lot of fish. I switched back to the Owner Mosquito hook, #2 ,and my hook up rate went back to 100% I tried the VMC weedless, and I was getting a 90% failure on hook up. I got rods, reels, and hooks on Tim's recommendations and they are always good. Even caught them in the middle of winter at the deepest part of the lake.

I kept wondering why the two of you looked familiar. I'm almost sure I ran across the two of you either on Clear Lake (maybe Clear Lake Outdoors) or on Shasta or Oroville. These were my old "stomping grounds" before the fire in Paradise forced us to move. We came out to a small "city" on the east side of Bull Shoals lake and fell in love with both the small town and the lake itself. We don't get quite the size as Clear lake but a much wider verity of fish. I've found you haven't lived until you've landed a 3' gar and had to figure out how to get your bait back! Love the show the two of you put on and look forward to watching it again & again. Thanks! We (my wife & I had Paradise Tackle Co. - jig heads, under spins, hand tied jigs.)

Heavy pressure has given the bank and off shore bass lockjaw in my area. I can’t wait for fall when the sportsmen venture into the public lands to pressure all the deer and not shot nothing. It’s like standing in line at the supermarket on the weekends to hit a good point or hump.

@ShapelessSteel
@ShapelessSteel 7 ай бұрын
There could be a few reasons, when they blow up on frog always wait a couple seconds before setting hook to let them get it in their mouth good. Sometimes, they choke it but sometimes they dont. Sometimes in those couple seconds your frog will rise again (they didn’t fully commit). When I am missing some, I find it is usually smaller bass, bigger bass usually choke it for me. Sometimes they also short strike the legs, so taking a little length off legs can help. Then sometimes they kind of smack it (to like “shock” it or something) before taking it. So, give it those couple seconds, if it comes back up then kinda slowly pop pop pause and often they’ll come back and take it. BUT if it stays under those couple seconds, set the hook hard cuz shes got it. I struggled for a while on frogs, but once ya kinda figure out the timing and get that down, itll be like riding a bike.

So, question for you guys, LOVE the channel btw. I live on Broken Bow lake, which is a highland reservoir, and it gets VERY deep, up to 180' in parts. The average depth is about 50'-70' in most spots until you get out into the lake, with shallow slopes from the banks to the depths. Our spawn just ended recently here too. So when the fish split, I know that we don't have tons of structure in most spots, it's mainly flat bottom in 80% of the lake. So, when I'm out in my Yak in the 50' depths, what part of the water column should i target? Also, while im way out on the lake, do topwater baits even work out in depths like that?

I fish a power lake cooling pond can you address the problems we have with water temps out of sink with normal water systems. I am in north carolina and water temps are closer to Florida in the winter. We rarely get below 55 degrees and in the summer we can have 90 degrees by June

Where do they go in a neighborhood pond with a big fountain, no structure or grass (just hairy algae clumps) that gradually slopes down to 12-15 feet? Some days they come shallow and I can get em on a spook but more often than not I can't even get a nibble.
