Daniel, your sincerity goes a very long way with a LOT of people, plus the information that you provide is extremely important to those of us who love coins, currency and collecting (the three C’s lol). That’s why you have so many dedicated followers.

You covered some interesting topics in this video. I own several Red books myself. Saying that I realize the Red Book is just a guide. I use the Red Book as a starting point. The prices are not set in stone. If I sell at a coin shop, the owner uses a Grey Sheet which may have a slightly different price. Plus, the coin shop owner will probably offer you somewhat less because they need to make a profit. Bottom line is if you don't like the offer, go somewhere else. Sometimes walking away may even get you a better offer.

I subscribed to the Grey Sheet to know what to pay. It saved me from over paying at the FUN show.

Not trying to be a "Richard" but If you sell that many red-books ( I buy 1 every year) there should be a code in the book that gives you access to the digital updates... if you really just want to help the hobby. IMHO

I agree something is real fishy going on

I would say that's coming, but again, the subscription tiers and quarterly do that. With the Greysheet buying out Whitman Brands we're going to see more features. I can tell you this, John Feigenbaum is the CEO and he stands for the same things I stand for in this hobby, that is why he did this video with me.

I only answer questions about coins in my help community, where u can look at images. Obviously a cleaned coin is worth less and I have several videos on that as well.

So we sell for low price and the buyer tripples the sell at auction, seems kind of unfair and misleading.
@wsoxman53755 күн бұрын
A reason to mot base a value of a coin on someone overpaying for a coin. Now, that may not be applicable for a super rare coin.

I think the grades should be brought down now instead of 5 years from now when it most likely will because there are not many red grades left and its time to down grade coins so the people can make some money for there hard work and dedication to the hobby!

If central banks of different countries start buying silver bullion or more silver, the tariff is applied, and considering current world events, where do you both think precious is going

Give up all your info for not one thing. It's an information vacuum. Just like the 500 oz silver Bullion sweepstakes. Finding out who is into what.

Are all cleaned coins worthless. I just purchased a very nice Bu 1895S Morgan did I waste my money?

Unfortunately you did but I will help you out and take it off your hands for a few bucks just so you're not at a complete loss... cuz I'm a good guy 😂
@wsoxman53755 күн бұрын
There are cleaned coins and there are coins ruined by harsh cleaning. If I can get an attractive AU coin " Cleaned" that's valued 2x the XF , at 25% off the AU, I'm a buyer. Many collectors can't afford to purchase the better grade perfect coin. Same goes with coins detail scratch.😢

Are cleaned coins worthless I’m 1 coin shy of having a Morgan for every year ???
@Americancoins5 күн бұрын
I'll answer don't let that be the reason why your not getting want you deserve for your collection, just hold on to them because it won't be long until the standards change and make all low grades move up to the mid grade or even high grade, because dealers will hold off or force or trick you into selling low knowing they will triple there sell in the years to come so just know everyday you hold off on selling the closer to your price you will get, just be patient, its so wishy washy because they know how Valuable coins will be in any grade. Food for thought!

I still dont value the retail prices in a Red Book. The prices are not reliable the day after the book was printed. I call those values " sticker price"
@CoinHELPu5 күн бұрын
It is suggested retail and we do explain that in this video, that the Red Book is a snap shot in time of when it is published and why they started the Red Book quarterly.
@borisperez31295 күн бұрын
I buy the redbook but I’d respect it a whole lot more if they at least created a paragraph to the crime of 1873 instead of just glossing it over, there are other grievances such as minting mistakes, but I’ll give em a pass on those!
@CoinHELPu5 күн бұрын
It's not the Red Books job to do that, they're a Numismatic price guide with information about coins.

This was a mutual collaboration without any monetary interest or exchange from either side. I don't pay for content nor do I get paid, I have videos on microscope reviews and I received the scopes for free, but no payment made to me for doing this video. I use, subscribe, buy and believe 100% in the Grey Sheet, Whitman Brands and the Red Book price guide.
