Best one yet! I think hard and confronting videos are far more motivational. Doing small steps and making excuses wont get you to full recovery. I love your videos Becky.

I can't believe that I actually find myself thinking that living with my ED isn't such a bad thing. Why would I think that?? I guess it just seems so much easier than confronting all these other things that recovery brings up. And also, I've had an ED so long, I honestly don't even know what life without it looks like. I know that I STILL have this belief that gaining weight is bad and I feel that until I lose that belief I have ZERO chance of ever getting better.

I've been back home in Europe for the last two weeks. It was a "tough" ride coming here, to say the least. In the end I had to travel over 36 hours and contracted INFLUENZA and a superinfection along the way, had to stay in the hospital for a few days and got pumped up with glucose. I gained some weight like that, of course, but I feel betrayed somehow. I've been doing very well, eating all kinds of food - including the stuff at the hospital. They didn't tell me what was in the IV, but I have eyes to read. I don't care about their reasons. It was supposed to be me making decisions like that. Well, cannot be helped now, but still, it's pissing me off, that I wasn't able to gain those pounds on my own! I'd rather eat an entire New York cheesecake than having a pint of glucose pumped into my system. 😡😡😡😡😡

I'm preparing myself for the process as best as I can. I might have to consider inpatient, though, at a regular hospital. Because of the low weight. Last time I just jumped in, with phosphate given to me by my specialist to avoid a refeeding syndrome. But this time I'm a bit scared of doing the refeeding all alone. I don't know what damage my body has suffered. Let's see what the blood next week says and based on that I'll make a decision.

And, of course, the results are inconclusive. Typical "masked" results. I won't know what's going on before I start eating. 😣

I'm going home to do the refeeding. 😱 A full-day trip around the globe. But it's worth it.

I feel confused by all of the different information in this video 🙈🙈🙈 can you please make this video into smaller steps. Like break it down a bit more, more slowly. Maybe it's just because my head is so muddled but there's so much information in such a condensed way I can't grasp any one concept

Clare Watt perhaps I should have titled it a Rant! I’m sorry if it was confusing. I will discuss the topics talked about here more thoroughly in future videos. Thanks for the feedback!

@@beckyfreestone9908 bless you. It wasn't a rant I think you are great, bursting with enthusiasm and energy to share your knowledge and experience. It's just such a big topic to cover in one video and so many aspects to take into consideration when committing to recovery. It's overwhelming in itself as a decision, especially if the cognitive function is a bit affected. So a slower, more detailed explanation of some of the points made in this video would be so so helpful 🙏🙏🙏 thank you so much for this feedback and response to my comment ❤️

Makes so much sense, and I feel that when we dont do what we are supposed to, we keep thinking about it, about what we should have done... creates this whirlwind of thoughts leading to remorse/anxiety.... whereas if we do it, we get "positive anxiety", or we might just move on, feel proud.... not sure what i am writing make sense but what you do does!! Thank you!!

Here’s my confusion. I’ve restricted FODMPS, high histamines and Candida feeders for years because of health issues. I’m not sure if it’s safe to eat them again without massive problems. Do you have any suggestions?

I can’t give you medical advice unfortunately. You’d need to go see a HAES doctor.

Hey Becky! In general I am doing far better than I could have hoped in recovery! Quick question - is it normal to have some continued weight gain (far slower than at first) even after extreme hunger is over? My mental hunger is almost non-existent now (I eat as soon as I start having food thoughts and then forget about food until I get hungry again), my portions have naturally gotten more "normal" sized and I even have craved vegetables on occasion 😂. I haven't heard of weight gain continuing after the hunger calms down, so I wanted to hear your thoughts if you don't mind. ( I am 5 1/2 months into recovery. I do not weigh myself ever, it is just that clothes are not fitting)

From my own personal experience, I continued to gain weight even after my hunger calmed down. That being said, everyone will have different experiences so it’s best to not compare and just trust that your body has got this!
