Yea that's huffing some strong copium, because I enjoy FPS games, and I don't care how badly I enjoy the mechanics of Apex I won't be going back. The game had it's time in the sun and now it's time to move on. I will be blunt in saying this, but I feel like "professional" esports and content creators are the downfall of FPS games. There is no hunt for a meta, Day 1 content creators already have a video for it. There is no hunt for changes done to the game, content creators have already released a video covering every change a day before it happens. Then there is the "support" the pros provide which is very little outside of viewership. Viewership is not a player base though, and viewers also aren't paying customers.

Players received a big insult from the EA/Respawn, when they received unfair matchmaking. Because when you can't have fun playing for 20 matches because your enemies are too strong, it definitely feels like an insult. This is probably the main reason why they don't want to come back.

Tbh, the game couldve still have been fun without standard new guns though more ltms with guns made specifically for it instead, like the grenade launcher we are supposed to currently have, or the throwing knife, hell they shpuldve done that exact thing with the bow, make unique guns actually feel unique,make an ltm for only krabers or something, make a ltm where guns are disabled and everyone only has their fists and abilities, basically like a massive fight night boxing ring which would be awesome btw if done right Part of the issue is adding a new legend each season, they made a standard for players who now expect a new legend each season and now theres too many legends, they cant balance Seer or others because theres too many others that they keep focusing on, what they shouldve done was add a new legend every few season, why? Because not only would that allow them to properly balance the new one but also allow enough people to thorughly enjoy that character before a new legend comes along, you may think a season is long enough but imagine if it went new legend one season, big LTM the next like the War Games ltm in S8 which was half assed btw but if they actually delivered on it, it couldve been much better, or the ltm where Maggie caused those ring flares which also gave us the ring domes we have now, big ltms means the game can feel fresh without feeling different while a legend every few seasons can increase the longevity of the game, imagine if the lesser picked legends had been given a better start, like Seer who was broken af at firat and is now just unpicked because he sucks or Valk who was meant to provide a more mobile alternative to an evac tower only for them to add exactly that but better anyways, making her ult pretty useless in comparison

Interesting how the player number goes up when they bring back revival and then the numbers go down again after they remove it. Look at the player count and compare it to them adding in game modes and then the dip when they remove them.

The game is still incredible, but it's also been out for 5 years and not a ton has changed. And this is the type of game you have to play a lot to stay sharp....when the player count is this low it's ONLY sweats. When the player count is high there is a much better balance of skill in every lobby. I hate to see it happening because Apex really is a great game.

true, pubs is just sweaty atm, ranked is fine around high plat to masters but super sweaty in bronze, silver and gold because of all the smurfs etc etc. Just not feasible for new players. I Dont think its gonna die anytime soon tho, prolly will follow the overwatch route where hardcore fans still play the game and its just the ultimate sweatfest at that point

For real. We really need to stop praising the game when a small good change happens. This game is fundamentally broken and no amount of matchmaking or nerfs will instantly solve the problem. Let's not praise Respawn and EA for idk... doing their actual jobs. And they do it like crap anyways. I'm not getting on this game when they say, "ohhhh we changed the matchmaking and some nerfs." People who have now left (like myself) it took me so long to finally say I'm done and moving one to other games, some little change isn't going to make me come back, I'm done for at least a year and if the game doesn't change than I'm just not playing it. Maybe that's what they want, all of us to stop playing apex so we can hop on battlefield BR when it comes out again.

It’s all the same, the players allowed this to happen by not holding the devs accountable for ripping us off and crushing the game. And yeah no one was putting fire on the devs to make the game better, whales buying the skins and everyone else buying them. All the game is, is a store simulator first, gameplay second. Mobile gotcha games play better then this game. Such a great game it could be, but fails because it cares too much about selling skins, which is crazy because if the game was great and ran great more people WOULD buy the skins. At this point I just want the game to die completely so we can all move on from the addiction

What good news? Game is stupid rn. Drone following, healing people is dumb. Passive healing after res is dumb. Needs to be half the speed at minimum. Why the hell didnt they address these 2 things which is the major issues? 2 shot ded with mastiff is dumb. Horizon being able to slide and skip sideways is dumb. People being able to do sweaty movements that others cant is dumb. The 10000 smurfs in lower rank is dumb. Xim on console is dumb. Pub lobby dying out before ring 1 even starts to close is dumb. The game needs a hard reset or itll be done.

i just dont see anything for this game. i launch is maybe once every few seasons now. even if matchmacking is fixed it just isnt worth peoples time. there are so many other games out there that does it all better than apex. this game was once the best game on the market but they stagnated and focused on profit and not fun. it will stagnate at low numbers for sure but this game is gone in the next 3-4 years

I care about getting actually balanced matches and so far, it has gotten so bad that i immediately start to hate my life and getting depressed whenever i play just *one. single. round.* I switched to Fortnite No-Build mode. And what happened? You're right. I had the most fun rounds of battle royale I have ever had in my life, because i was playing against *bots* in the first few matches. Then the matchmaker was putting me in real player lobbies and i started to hate my life again. Duos and Trios is horrible for the most part. Still. In Solos, I get atleast a few kills off drop and i'm finally able to get some nice fights. In my last game today, i actually got an victory screen again after around 10-20 hours of playtime and i got 8 kills and 5100 damage in solos no-build. Thats more then i ever got in any round in 4 years of playing apex legends. My highest in apex was like 4 games with somewhere below 3200 damage and *one* round in revival with 4800+ damage. The rest with a few 2k rounds and mostly 1500 damage or below. Conclusion? Apex has the better FPS design. Fortnite is way more fun and doesn't let me hate my life as much as apex.

What ea and respawn could have done was do a Christmas event but make it last until Christmas in other words it would be a community event with a limited time game mode where say we just fought each other with snowballs on a snowy themed map for the entire month of December where each day leading up to Christmas every one would get a random gift which would be Christmas themed weather that be a skin ect. but to make it so everyone doesn't miss out everyone will get the same rewards just they will all be random but at the end on Christmas Day everyones last gift was a gingerbread themed heirloom ax which would be universal to use on all legends I feel like something like this would have really got people to play

I started playing Apex in late 2020 and played pretty consistently since then, maybe taking a break for a season or two at most but always coming back and having fun - but since around Season 21/ May 2024, I've just had no desire to play Apex. The game just feels like less effort is being put into it, the content drops are smaller and less frequent, balancing issues feel like they take ages to be addressed, ranked is absolutely abysmal, the lore and story for the game has become pretty stupid and uninteresting at this point. There's just nothing to draw me in, it's the same Apex I've got to play for the past 4 years now, but it just feels decayed. It's just same old same apex, but worse. Only thing that could get me to come back to Apex at this point is if they introduce wide, systemic changes and massively change the way the game is played / the way the game feels. Like if they did a massive server upgrade, or added new movement techs, or reworked every single legend, or changed the entire weapon pool or something. But I don't think they'll ever do that, so my time on Apex is probably at an end.

It gets on average 60k active players around the day (with big ups and downs) and around 200-500k active players per month. Not 18 million. Atleast according to the official steam charts. maybe it's just me, but the direction of apex was so bad that it took an all time low of players and a slew of complaints for the devs to finally do something about it. sad to say, but the majority of players that left maybe 10 percent of them will come back to play again. Also with the large amount of players that left, the game has become very niche in a way. all i see is sweaty ass players in pubs and its the same players ive seen in the previous game(s) as well. with how sbmm is as well, no new players will ever pick up this game or stay long enough to keep playing. the moment multiple key figure of apex leaves the game (like hal or something) the game will be doomed to fail shortly after. but even after this i still want the game to succeed, but how?

Honestly, I think the update made players salty on console. Solos were worse than ever, triple stacking playstation teams, not even allowing a second for anyone to breathe. Everyone was just full sending everyone and throwing games left and right. Love apex as a game, but its player base is ridiculously toxic. And it's driving people away from the game also. I don't know how they fix it at this point. It's just gotten out of control, 20 tick servers and cheaters, and then hateful toxic teams and solos, taking out their frustration on everyone else. It's madness to keep playing a game that is like that tbh

At Dezember 11th 2024 on 00:00 UTC (12.11.2024), this game had its absolute lowest playercount since release. It had *38,308* active players, *instead of* its usual *45,000+* players at this time of the day. Thats even worse then the one 39k+ player count in the hacker infested season (S22). No amount of changes is gonna stop this player retention, till they actually fix the matchmaker - or go the fortnite route with adding decently playing bots to the game. Not gonna lie. The bots in fortnite make the game actually enjoyable for me. Someone that is by far not an sweat and only plays for fun, aswell as an victory screen. If Fortnite would have the same treatment as apex legends - meaning the matchmaker and no bots in their rounds, i would hate the game too (for the most part). But then they also have other gamemodes to enjoy, outside of BR. Even an No-Build mode for everyone doesn't like the normal BR mode with building included.

It’s sad when they give us customs but don’t even add all the maps or game modes of and also need a certain amount of players for customs. R5 has more game modes, better communication between players and developers, you can literally play every map that has been created and or create your own. This game is just a plain bagel

hal retiring would be very bad for the game, he's one of the biggest streamers for apex and streamers are the people who create hype for the game. if hal quit, it would basically send a message that apex isn't worth playing and that there's nothing good on the horizon to come back to and check out.

The only thing that would bring back apex is merging console and pc lobbies. Reasons being is that apex is so boring and stale that it needs add more game modes without creating horrible queue times. Playing marvel rivals makes me not even want to touch apex anymore. As new games come out, apex players will be leaving to games that call their attention. They cant even make revivals permanent which is what the majority of players want along with better rank systems. Its very few people who still enjoy pubs like streamers and what not. Apex is competing against Marvel, and CoD. To top it off the game is in a slow place and people are more likely to play their OG games like seige, OW, fortnite, or even rpgs like baulders gate 3. Day one here and I will say this game is nothing but a money grab. $180 for a skin. really. COD doesn't others haven't. and you literally get nothing. no finisher no customization no way set yourself away from others. They like to do this. Oh were listening to the public. We hear you guys. Like it's a serious competition with big money on the line at a time where we wouldnt have much content at all other than scrims normally. Not only did we get to see comp but we also get some extra drama from some really good teams failing to make Finals.

Hell, even if they put in a tracker or some sort of local leaderboards for ranked, an overall pred grind leaderboard, a BLGS tracker, an ALGS tracker... anything... it'd be great

Do that for more than 4500 hours and you will hate it like we all do... Also the BP cost real money. Of course there is gonna be something in there that makes you wanna buy it. Turn your eyes onto the free things to do in the game and you will get sick real soon. I mean try to complete the havoc trials from 0-100 right now. You can't. You can't for already two seasons! If you actually play the game you know why it is impossible to do so! xD It has been like this since I started playing like 4 years ago... They add something cool and do nothing with it until it dies! Also was it the r301 and kills outside the ring? Yeah good luck on that after season 19 changes when nobody hangs out of zone in ring 2 anymore since that shit it going to kill you already quickly! :D
