Where does BENJYFISHY rank amongst the all-time GREATS?

Benjyfishy recently retired from Fortnite. Here I give my thoughts on where he ranks among the best Fortnite players ever.

Honestly feel like he gets downplayed so hard just because a lot of his success was in chapter 1 to early chapter 2. I vividly remember those early chapter 2 cash cups where he just seemed unstoppable. He may not have any FNCS wins (should have won Season X) and whatnot but no-one can deny the talent the kid had. Hope to see him pop off in Valorant that would be so sick!

Benjy as a competitive icon, is without a doubt one of the most important and biggest. Out of EU, I would say only Mongraal had a bigger influence and icon status, while Benjy slightly edges out Savage and Mitro. But as a competitive player, it is hard to rank Benjy. There is so many things that went wrong for him unfortunately, and he should probably be an fncs winner with mongraal and mitro in season X if they didn’t get griefed by a mech. But an 8th I think it was it still not bad and is a significant top 10 placement in a very important tournament. Obviously he followed up that with 2nd in fncs squads, and it’s a really good placement for his argument in ranking competitive players all time. Although I think squads is the least competitive game mode, a 2nd in any fncs shows amazing skill. Chapter 2 season 2 and 3 were rough for benjy, with not qualing for duo fncs with mongraal and while making both fncs invitational and fncs solo finals is impressive, he didn’t get a solid placement in either. C2 S4 and 5 were a nice bounce back for benjy, as he placed 8th and 5th in those. For the rest of chapter 2, it wasn’t anything notable for his career at this point, but he did qualify for every fncs final besides C2 S6 so good for consistency. Then in the first two seasons of chapter 3 he qualed for grands, again adding consistency but doing very bad in finals, so it can only help his consistency argument against other players. Also between Season X and C2 S1 him and Aqua were some of the best players at that point, probably being 1 and 2, and Aqua didn’t even qual for fncs squads(I think) but he was just that dominant in season X and cash cups. Overall, I think benjy is undoubtedly top 20 and he is in the 12-15th spot range. Some people I would put above him are: -Bugha -Aqua -Epikwhale -Tayson -Arkham -Mero -Zayt -Saf -Savage There is a lot of EU players like chapix, hen, queasy, thomashd and etc that could possibly be better but I don’t know too much about EU so I don’t know their overall fncs placements and if they have been consistent since atleast the start of season x fncs.

In my eyes, getting 3 1st and 2 2nd in fncs qualifiers in the most rng season has to be one of the most expressive things in Fortnite comp period

People, annoyingly, seem to misuse the terms “all-time greats” or “GOAT” (not saying its you). Of all time means you have to consider everything that has happened in their career. Tayson and others are indeed very good players and maybe the best right now. However they are indisputably not GOATs; a quick peek at some power ranking websites (FN tracker) shows that (when decay is removed) they are not near players like Savage and Benjy in terms of all-time PR or even per-event PR. The events come thick and fast these days as well so its easier to earn PR over a given period of time. Benjy and Savage are undoubtably the best players of all time in EU - no one else has lasted for as long at such a high level and delivered what are very consistent results.

He wouldn't be able to stream team practice, so it would depend if he had enough time/energy outside the team time to stream.
