Surprisingly, it's not only kids but also adults who don't know anything about household waste disposal. We often use such videos for our household waste disposal clients to educate them about garbage. For a newbie, the concepts of recycling, waste to energy disposal, and landfilling can be "nerdy", but there's a lot of value in the process.

I reuse and recycle. I grow my own vegetables. I don’t eat much processed food. And I decompose my vegetable scraps, weeds, paper, etc. I also reuse my water. My household only produce a bag of trash every week.

also, a landfill causes a threat to ground water, because of the chemical reactions inside the dump. there is always some leakage, no matter how well the landfill is sealed. the leaking fluid is called leachate and is dangerous poison!

There are many safeguards to insure that leachate is not contaminating groundwater. Most facilities, ours included, are required to conduct groundwater testing on a regular basis to insure groundwater has not been contaminated. Additionally, part of the lined cell process includes a thick layer of bentonite clay under the liner which serves two purposes if a leak occurs; soaking up the leachate and self sealing of the tear.

Best not to burn plastics. They can be turned into fuel chemically now. 80% of waste is compostable or recyclable.

Yes the scrubber most likely uses a lime stone ammonia slurry to capture the harmful pollutants much like a coal fire plant. The by product is gypsum which is also used for concrete and drywall companies. But there is also FGD created which has alot of toxics which in turn is put in special landfill's lined with clay an a special linner on top the clay. Then eventually buried. Id rather it be buried in these special landfill's then breathing it so........
@birdbath19839 жыл бұрын
Reading through the comments below, its clear there is a lot of scientific thought and safeguarding put in place to make sure this is the cleanest way to burn garbage. But what isn't addressed is why the average american is producing over 4 lbs of garbage a day. This shines it up so much that a young person might think its ok to make too much garbage- whatever I waste isn't wasted so its ok. Secondly, Recycling and sorting aren't clearly addressed either (except the post burned metals). Paper, glass, metals, etc don't add to the calorific value of the fuel so why not remove them first?, And if paper is recycled the fuel's calorific value could drop to where they'd have to put more energy in than they'd get out - If everyone recycled properly incinerator plants couldn't operate very well. Also what they don't mention is what happens to the smoke that they collect in the scrubbers? Its full of harmful toxins, mixed with more chemicals used to bind them with the water - how can you call this clean energy?

@sabbirmahmud21536 жыл бұрын
I asked myself a question. What are the problems faced in recycling? Most materials are produced without taking recycling into mind. There are plastics that can’t be recycled at all, and these are inevitably burned, causing air pollution. Complex contents of packaging material make it difficult to sort and recycle. A lot of times proper technology is just not available to sort through the different types of materials. While one district or town might be able to recycle one form of a plastic item, this may not be possible in a neighboring city! Oh that's easy to answer! Cause greed! You can thank good ole Thomas Edison for being a greedy POS for that! Nikola Tesla wanted to use our created energy sources and give it to the people for free for the betterment of everyone, but money hungry industrialists and the government wanted to charge people to make ludicrous amounts of profit (even though it really isn't necessary to do). Isn't it great how all of mankind pulls together to screw each other over throughout history?
