Watched this in its entirety. I completely feel you man. I went on travel for work twice and had to quarantine both times, so pretty much from October to a week and a half ago, I was home alone. And like you, I'm strugglin to find myself again. There are some rough days w/ breakdowns and complete loss of appetite, but also have good days, and I'm trying to focus on the good days. I've never been physically away from work for this long before and it's playing with my head. But I've found music really soothes the brain and helps somewhat. Anyways, I love the content you put out....I'm not a lawn care company, just a homeowner always looking to improve my skills and you do an awesome job.

Awesome video man. I applaud you for the step in taking this on full-time. I feel like equipment videos are what people like to watch the most (as in they are best for viewer count on You Tube metrics), but what we need to be watching are videos on how to be more profitable and make goo decisions for our companies... Love your stuff. Your branding is stellar as well... Peace

Winter is definitely a slower time of the year especially if you don't live in a snow belt. I deal with the same hit or miss snow here in Michigan that you deal with but there's times where the slower work has it's perks as like you mention with family time but at the same time bills need to be paid so it's smart to have a winter fund just in case of a lean year during winter but when it does snow or at least lots need salted that's just extra money in the BANK! You'll be fine brother, just keep pushing a long and hopefully we can ALL have a wonderful and healthy 2021!

Having a dealership whose hand you have to hold is such a HUGE aggravation! This has been a year of the unexpected brother. Don't let it get the best of you. Stay strong and keep kicking butt buddy. These are all things that come along with being a business owner. These setbacks will only make you better in the long run. I'm proud of the effort you are making to build your company and being successful. Taking a break from social media is also good for your mental health. I am going through tbe exact same thing. No invoices going out or seeing the revenue flowing like it has been the last 9 months. I have been helping a good friend of mine as his right hand man running a plow truck or skid steer when we get events which has only been 3 here in Indiana. Not much motivation however on the days when there isn't snow. I have been working on marketing and advertising for next season which always does excite me so it helps a little.
@kinderlawnmaintenance78904 жыл бұрын
I am glad I set money aside all year for that winter fund which is an absolute must in my book. It never hurts to have even if it doesn't end up being used during winter. Never know when a drought or pandemic stops the revenue and you need that emergency fund. Good luck to you buddy and we will get through this winter "funk".💪😎✌

Watched to the end. I know what you are going through. My son and I have been working together for seven years. I am a full time teacher and we have been building our business with the intent of it becoming my son’s full time business and my part time retirement gig. I did very little work with my son this fall and it really through me off. I always seemed tired and pretty unmotivated. We had a few expensive truck repairs this fall as well and it seemed to compound. Luckily we had the money saved. Definitely not going to step away from the business this next year like I did this year.

Trying to start a lawn business in Ohio as well would be nice to get some insight from a beginning business like yours. I am a solo owner operator and a little older. Would appreciate any advice from you that would help me grow.
@D.Stephenson4 жыл бұрын
Man, there’s so much to pile in one message. So I’ll hit the top 3. 1. Do quality work. As simple as it sounds, if your work is not up to par, you won’t get the customers to call. 2. Know your numbers to allow you to go correctly. Don’t buy all brand new equipment and that $12k mower if you have no customers or are just starting. You can start rolling with a $5k set up and start making money. 3. Have realistic expectations. It costs a lot to grow a business. It takes a lot of effort to grow as well. It can be 10+ years till you really start making it. Hope this helps. I also have a ton of videos on here that should help you out as well.
