Hey, nice to hear from you! The bird on your mailbox is a Great Grey Owl (svensk: Lappuggla). They are 60-68 cm tall (in comparison tawny owls are 37-43 cm tall). So you are right it is way bigger than tawny owls and they are very rare. You are so lucky to have seen the owl, I am a birdwatcher and searched for the owl on my vacation in Sweden but could not find it :) I really feel your stomach history, I made similar experiences with my stomach and I have the feeling that my stress really worsened all...

Oh my God, that’s amazing! I just looked up the great grey owl it’s incredible that I’ve been able to see it three times now in the area, I think I should name it 😁 thank you so much for that and the support!

Glaskogen is amazing, glad you enjoyed it! Really nice that you are a bit of an ambassador for the nature of Sweden. 😊 Your Swedish pronunciation is really good btw! I live in Värmland and I also own an old house (a small farm really) with some hectars of forest. It's so nice to hear that you care about your house's history and that you are willing to care for it the old way. It will make for a healthy house that will last at least another 100 years. We do it aswell and it is great! The spruce has shallow roots and the ground (in the parts of Sweden where spruce grows) is often very rocky (not much soil to hold on to), so after every storm we always walk through our forest to see if any trees have fallen. We never clear cut our forest, but it can happen anyway. Spruce has to be cleared pretty right away, due to a harmful beetle, "barkborre". Along the edges of clear cut areas there can be quite a lot of fallen trees after a storm. The trees have become much more exposed to the wind (and harmful beetles) after the clear cutting, not good for that particular owner, but that's the way it is done unfortunately. The areas that have been clear cut near you have likely been clear cut simply because it is time. All forests in Sweden have a plan for planting, thining out and harvesting. The felled trees looked normal to me, an odd bad one is no problem. The new forest will also likely be planted, maintained and look just like the old one. Today it is all about money. Ecological concern is rare. Another reason for clear cutting spruce is the spruce killing beetle, barkborre. If you have seen a lot of damaged or dead trees, that's likely it. We have had massive problems with this in Sweden the last years. We have chosen to maintain our forest as an forest. It is no money in it, but we get to walk through a beautiful forest, pick berries and mushrooms and see birds and animals. And set up a tent! We also take down some trees every year for firewood and making boards/planks. I understand that you wish to keep your place anonymous, I certainly would. I just want to say that in a couple of your earlier videos you mentioned some very local names and I recognized these places since I grew up in the municipality you now live in. To avoid unwanted attention, perhaps you could edit out these names from earlier videos? Wish you the best of luck and it is great to see that you bought and renovate a house that, like so many other houses in the countryside here, perhaps would of dilapidated instead. 😊

As a new house owner myself (had it for about a year) I can totally relate about the renovations bit. It's just so maddening how projects can snowball when you have to consider stuff like what order you do things and for some of them it hinges on getting a professional on site to do some small detail and everything just drags on and on and on... Glad to hear things are settling a bit for you guys.

Thank you so much, I struggle to give myself praise when it’s due and I’ve been told I need to change that but one of the places I can definitely feel proud of is how well I learned Swedish on my own before getting lessons to a point where I am now able to work in a Swedish company speaking in mostly Swedish. Finally enough it was moving outside of the city that really helped because I was forced to not speak English and I’m so thankful for that! Haha I do hope so! Grannen är snickare så han kanske behöver en lärling 😂 thanks so much for your support and kind words!

You cannot escape from yourself, no matter how far you go, how much you change your environment or situation, you have to eventually stand still and do the work on yourself. It is a life long process, but gets easier with time.

Deep breath, you are aware of affirmations I am sure. So try saying daily "I am well, I am strong, I am healthy"and Believe it when you say it. Three times in a row those 3 affirmations. I do this upon waking and at sleep. I had Covid 19 and amazed the docs by surviving it. I am glad to see you and I know you will overcome all the obstacles. Growth and challenges are good.

if the chinmey pipe is not insulated it will give heat to the stomes, and hot air will make sure there is air movement inside the chimney the arguments you come with does not make much sense leaving it un heated it deffently not good if you are saying the house is build around that heat no hot air = no air movement and lots of moist personally i took the old chimney down when making new roof to many holes in the roof that was not needed, and more space inside the house (its a good place to use for ventilation and new electric cables and water/waste water) they might as well go out through the side so you avoid leaks in the future often a stone chimney will also lead the water when it rains under the middle of the house if you dont use it it does give alot of moist that want to come up through the floor 1 chimney is around 2000 € (if its not insulated 500-1000€) using the amount of money you considder is crazy is it just for the looks i bet a metal chimney is more original anyway when it come to these style of buildings who would drag stones out to the middle of no where rockwool is a brand name not a product name they have around 200 diffenrt types of insulation, im not sure those arguments was correts either 😆😜 (not saying you made the wrong choise, rockwool is expensive)

As a person that growed up (not in the countryside) but still not in a bigger town. I had to move to a bigger city for university studies, and I had really big problem living in a city. My apartment was more of a area that I slept in and no creativity was done. Moved out to a farm and ofc its alot to do but I feel I have more controll of my own life and what I need to do. No the Spruce has shallow root systems and when they have been used to a certain amount of sun any sudden cutting can actually stress the tree to die. And the root systems that the trees has used to hold together can also make them fall due to less roots connected. The owl is an Lappuggla, Great grey owl.
@theNamesPhillip8 сағат бұрын
That’s exactly how I felt when I lived in the city, everything felt a bit meaningless or uninspiring! I had a feeling that something to do with having so much convenience which made me feel very dependent. I definitely agree with the control aspect! And thank you so much for the information, I didn’t realise about the spruce trees and I’m so happy to finally find out what the owl was! Thanks so much for your support!

Hey welcome back! I had problems with my stomach also for years and years. A tip is do not take anti acids they only make it worse in the long run. What healed me was experimenting with carnivore diet and then i can eat almost normally again, low fibre. Whenever i feel bad i just do carnivore diet for a while and am all healed up again. Oh and i also had bad experience with that car company.. i went to see a car and it leaked oil underneath, i told them about it but they didnt care at all! I also been totally hassled on a camper van once from another company.. and one where the accelerator got stuck on full gas as i was test driving, i thought i was gonna die, but again they didnt care and acted like nothing for the next customer trying the car, so i had to personally warn them about it.. The car dealerships in Sweden are mostly like this, sadly. If your lucky you can find a good one with honest people. I always just buy my cars on blocket from a trustworthy person
@theNamesPhillip8 сағат бұрын
Hey, thanks so much for your support and input! Funny you say that because I was carnivore for a while and at first I felt amazing, I had some negative side-effects after doing it for a long time. I feel like it could probably be good for sure both of time just like you’re doing it! Nutrition is so complex! I feel like the best way is just to listen to how we likely evolved to eat. I guess people in northern Europe had little access to vegetables and fruits in the winter and probably had to rely more on meat and a few vegetables we managed to save so they could be some good evidence for that! So my censorship didn’t work? 😂 I think most car dealerships in the world I like that unfortunately. I bought a Mazda (2015) from them that broke after three days with a pretty big engine problem, they wouldn’t help me for a month despite it being a known issue that they didn’t tell me about, then they gave me a loan car (Mercedes e220 amg) and it did the same thing after 3 days! It was a nightmare and the whole thing ended up lasting around 45 days! Thanks so much for your comment and support! 😁

I disagree about the internal stress thing, and being outside of the city wouldn't help. It's the sole reason I'm working as hard as I do, to achieve that goal because I personally don't feel well whatsoever being in Stockholm. I want the peace and quiet, away from people and work fully remote. Some people want to live in the bustling city and get out from the city once in a while for peace, whilst others want to live outside the city and go into the city once in a while to experience all the stress/people/things. I'm a very stressed person, always been since a kid which has caused me quite some health issues - so it's a lot of internal stress. With that said it differs from person to person, some will find peace and some wont.
@theNamesPhillip8 сағат бұрын
Thank you for your response there! I think I should probably have thought about it a bit more as I feel like I’ve been in the same situation (coming from a city with very similar thoughts). And because I work every week in Stockholm, I can definitely see a marked difference in how I feel when I’m in värmland. I think for me, a burden was lifted when I was able to escape the external stressers but the quiet life I was searching for fell victim into the hedonic treadmill and revealed the stress that was going on internally with fewer things to distract myself from it. I really do hope that all that work pays off for you though! It could end up being the most likely answer that everybody’s different. Thanks so much for that comment, I really wanted a discussion on this! 😊

Thank you so much! ❤️ I expect a large portion of that money probably goes to the scaffolding work for a house, this big but I’m not too sure, I will definitely search around for more offers! From what I’ve been told, there are specific things that need to be done for a house of this type in order for it to breathe (because it’s usually important in these cases) but if I was able to ensure that the heat could fully circulate around the house with the pipe as opposed to no pipe, I would definitely go for that option! Thanks for the support!
