Sandy I’m so glad you finally found a surgeon that you can trust with your issues, it’s great that you are your own advocate! It’s very important to follow through until you are totally informed. I have a daughter that is a quadriplegic with Cerebral palsy and mentally only 5 years old. I have actually been fired from doctors for asking questions about their treatments for her. lol. Gotta do what you gotta do until you are satisfied. Hope and prayers for your surgery and recovery!

Your daughter is so lucky to have you as her advocate, especially when she can't be one for herself. I was 27 when I had my first knee replaced and the nurses and physical therapists were not kind to me, but I said nothing. My mother and sister finally intervened and told some of them that they were no longer allowed in my room. I still remember one nurse telling me I had no idea what pain was after they pulled out a drain before giving me any pain medications that were long overdue. Some people should not be in health care. Over the years, Rich and I have learned what to expect from surgeons and we no longer allow anyone to bully me. I truly admire all you do for your daughter and hope you have a great holiday season...Sandy

Hello from Arizona, Sandy! God Bless you, my dear friend! You’ve had a very difficult time of it with your femur. So grateful you’ve found someone you trust to take care of your potato chip issue. My heart is with you and I pray for you daily. I’ve been non existent too. As you know, my Mom died and I recently lost my Dad too. We have also moved. I will continue to keep you in thoughts and prayer! I pray you have no issues with your surgery and have an easy time recovering. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving if we are not able to be in contact.❤🦃☮️🙏

@ Hey Sandy! So glad to hear from you! We are all doing okay. It’s been hard losing my Dad, but I was able to talk to him with a phone held to his ear. After speaking with me he passed 4 minutes later. I was very fortunate to have spoken in detail with him four days prior on my birthday! He was in rare form, so delighted to chat. We laughed and expressed our love and appreciation for each other. It was very special. As much as I loved my amazing Mom, I was always a Daddy’s girl. I’m very different from my sister’s in that I loved to hunt and fish with him. When I was little, possibly older, and maybe still…. boys had more fun than girls. LOL 🤣 Dad and I always went on the scary rides together when we went to carnivals and the fair. I miss him so much but he was 88 1/2, lived a good life and is now with my Mom. They knew each other since they were 13 and 14. Married a month short of 67 years. I hope Rich and fur babies are all doing well too. I miss our communications together, my friend! ❤️😺☮️🙏

Miss you too. My local surgeon has done so much more than what I mentioned in the video. When someone found the surgeons in Pittsburgh, he wanted updated, so his office called me about it and I gave them the name. I didn't know he was in Guatemala doing free joint replacements for people, but while he was there, he asked the other surgeons if they knew about the surgeon I was seeing in Pittsburgh and he called back to make sure I knew he heard good things about him.. The two Pittsburgh surgeons I saw did not make me feel they were confident of a good outcome and that made us nervous. The surgeon I chose was so confident..he even told me what he would do if anything went wrong, and he had a lot of options.. People in Pittsburgh basically said if the surgery didn't go well, I'd lose my leg. The one I chose said he does a couple of these a month for 30 years and could count the number of people who lost their legs on his fingers and that was because of raging infections. I'm hoping after this surgery is behind us, we can go back to normal life.

Hi Sandy, i am hapy to see you. thanks for sharing, am sure it might be a horrible time for you & rich. All I can say that I will keep you in my prayers. I will see you back with your regular, funny & inspiring crafty vedios. Best quality about you that I admire is even in such tough times you are funny & i could'nt stop laughting very time you said crushed popato chips. LOL. Stay strong & Happy Thanksgiving in advance.

I'll admit I've struggled to stay positive but the terms these surgeons use, like the paper clip story (heard that from all 4 surgeons) the ice cream cone analogy and especially the crushed potato chips....those have to make you snicker. I really appreciate your support and hope you have a great holiday season! Sandy

@craftingforalmosteveryone8 күн бұрын
Krystle, Thanks for your kind words. I have all kinds of advice as I've had so many joints replaced and some that are older that were re-replaced. Please email me any questions at saundralparker@yahoo.com and I'll be happy to help. The one big tip I got from an anesthesiologist after my first replacement is this. When you wake up from surgery in recovery, if you hurt even a little bit, ask for more medication as this is the last chance to get good pain killing meds. If you get in your room and didn't ask for pain meds in recovery, the pain will get ahead of you and you don't want that to happen as it's so much harder to control pain once it's bad. I hope that made sense, and if it didn't, I'm happy to clarify for you. Sandy

So glad I finally explained it well...I'm not sure I truly understand it, but what I shared is what I think the doctor explained, haha, but you know I get overwhelmed and only take in about 1/10th of what they say.

I’m so sorry this has been dragging out so long and that things are so scary. At least one of my prayers was answered because I’d been praying for you to find a really good doctor that could do the surgery and save your leg. Now I’ll have to add him getting to do the surgery earlier and that God guides his hands, the last part I’ve been praying for all along. Definitely miss seeing your videos, but you and your health are much more important than a video. If you aren’t up to crafting, just do a video like this where we get to see you and you let us know how you are from time to time if you feel up to it. I’ll be here when you get back as I’m sure the rest of your subscribers will be. You just take care of you.

Ms Sandy I don't know your chanel but I craft and your video came up .. what can I say except you have my admiration with all you have and are going through and still coming on here also it makes one feel rather pathetic complaining about minor issues compared to yours and I pray all goes well for you 🙏
@craftingforalmosteveryone8 күн бұрын
Thanks so much Cally. I hope you aren't hard on yourself for any complaining you might do, as everyone has their struggles and mine might be different than yours, but yours are still important. I hope now that you've found my channel, that you'll check out a couple of my videos as I have hundreds of them. I'm not monetized, I do these videos to encourage anyone with physical limitations to continue to do something crafty, as it's a great way to keep your mind occupied and your fingers and body active. It meant a lot to me that you wrote this note to me, given you've never seen any of my videos. Sandy
