U said the first person who gave u a chance when u had no proof, can I find a client like that, I am a copywriter, first timer and I want someone who would trust me like that I would be so happy 😢
@artekal3dАй бұрын
It is really about luck. Once I got a small client who paid me about $100, and I don't think I had anything to show, or at least anything good (i was just starting out as a freelancer). Plus, that client was pretty chill and not picky at all. So it was very easy $100. But now I can rarely find those kind of clients even after having some experience. I think one way you can find someone who can give you a chance with no proof is to already have some connection with that client (maybe you're already friends with them, or maybe working for them for something else that you have proof of or something that doesn't need any proof). Other than that you have to find people who are financially doing okay and want to build something and you explain to them how they can do it, and if they like it, you can ask if you can help them in it. I'm doing my current freelance job like that and have been offered jobs when i show really interested people a way. How's your copywriting work going? any progress? It has been a year since your comment

Hey Deya, I just started freelancing as a VA, I'm currently on Fiverr and I have had just one client as of now. I haven't been getting any orders. I am trying to get clients from Facebook groups, but as a VA idk what kind of groups to target. please give me some advice. ps: I am a part of your group as well.
@MyNameIsDeya2 жыл бұрын
Hi Syed! Congrats on landing your first client! For your groups to target, not sure if you watched my Facebook groups video - but I share a few ways to search for groups that would be relevant e.g. searching on Facebook by your target audience, by tools, by service type, etc. So if your target client is a course creator, I would join the types of groups they'd be joining like Kajabi, Teachable, Thinkific support groups. I would show up with a ton of value to deliver over and over and really establish yourself as an expert in that group.

Hey! I get into where I found each client at 06:17 - you can see the breakdown of it in the pie graph. 61% off a freelance platform - that was almost all off of Upwork. 27% were from Facebook groups, 7.5% were referrals and the rest were via cold pitching. Hope that helps.

Heyy Deya I just wanted to add something for people in the comments: Upwork charges 20% only for your 500 first $, then 10% until you reach 10 000$, and only 5% afterward! I hung in there until I reached 10 000 and it made it worth it for me, even though I totally agree with you that working hourly is not the best, and people tend to offer hourly gigs on Upwork!
@MyNameIsDeya2 жыл бұрын
Great tip, Maya! I totally agree - I also hit $10K eventually on Upwork which really paid off to save on those fees. :D
