Congrats on starting your academic uni journey! As someone who already graduated with a bachelor of music (contemporary) and a bachelor of business degree, and also currently finishing my bbus (hons) degree as well. My advice to you is to never put pressure on yourself, you choice your major because you came to learn it, rather its full-time uni or part-time studies, your time will past fast! Dont forget about your parents, also praying 5 times a day. When I reverted back to Islam during my 3rd (last year) I didn't hesitate to miss any daily prayers alhamdulliah, if I manage to go on campus, attend my lecture classes or sometimes (virtual lecture classes). I still manage to pray to a nearby masjid at my campus or (home) if I had clasess online. Seeking knowledge is a sunnat mention by nabi Muhammad. Never forget about Islam! I know living in the west is hard for muslim to practise their religion! I grew up in the western country as well (Australia) never grew up in Egypt or Saudi Arabia like you! My deen in Islam religion grew stronger because I fear Allah everyday! Also beware of people who are bad influence on you! That will take away your faith from you! Good luck on your academic journey :) I hope you graduate with a good GPA, a high distinction marks in all of your units! Ameen. Never estimate the power of praying tahajjud, and making Dua! It really works! If it wasn't for Allah, I wouldn't be on my full scholarship degree and paid off half on my student debt already. Never estimate the power of Allah! Dua (supplication) to Allah and praying tahajjud if you can! 🙏 ❤

I'm a professional engineer, and was in your shoes back in 1988 - 35 years ago. First year engineering is designed to break students. To survive, you need to plan your time carefully, or by November you will be in full panic mode. One thing that helps is to get one of those 4-month wall calendars that you can mark up with a grease pencil, and make a note of all your due dates for exams and term papers and projects, and the times of all classes and study sessions. By being able to see all four months at once, you can plan ahead and not be caught in a deadline squeeze. Good luck!

Queen Mary University days were good, now I work there but miss being a student but Alhamdulilah. The best advice I could give is: 1.)Seek Islamic knowledge, get closer to Allah (As Allah as told us in the Qu'ran he has created Jin and Mankind to worship him) 2.) Be around good righteous friends --> People make or break a lot of the time at university depending on their crowd, I didn't have the best people around me during my first year but second year I realised I had to change that and have now been grateful for it ever since and see it's fruits 3.)Focus on your health and start working out --> Helps with energy levels, you feel and look better (The strong believer is better then the weak believer) 4.) Always check in on family and give them quality time 5.)What ever you do whether it be studies, the way you act, talk, way you edit, etc. remember you're an example of Muslims so always try your hardest and be the best at everything you do. I ask Allah to bless you with all the good in this life and the next my brother

You made me cry with your video leaving your family to go to uni but now you make me smile seeing that you have settled in well. It can be easy to isolate yourself when you have your own room like that but it looks like you've got a great balance of privacy but also social (and spiritual) life. And you have your fox bedsheets! So cute. I don't really know what to suggest as room decorations, but just things that mean something to you. oh also for room decor ideas: LED lights (basic ik but cool), retro posters, a headphone stand or basically stuff u can showcase cool items with (buy the ikea peg board and u can tweak that), a floor carpet with some sort of pattern. Pick a few base colours that you want to keep consistent with ur room and it'll look great, have fun!

As for your room, you can get a small chest with 3 drawers to fit it under your desk, desk organizer (from Ikea, etc), pictures that don't need nails to hang (like with sticky tapes). wish you all the best in the Uni! keep the good friends to keep you right x

Potted green plants will do wonders for your studio apartment.They brighten up the room and help with fresh air circulation. Get those ones that are easy to care like Zanzibar Gem,Snake Plant or Pothos aka Money Plant. Btw Nick Kyrgios is also my favorite tennis player. ..if he keeps cool and doesnt lose his temper that is 😊

Nice video, good man. If you want personality, a notice board is great for putting up some postcards and photos. I like postcards from art galleries. Or even magazine cutouts. Best thing is you can change it whenever you like. get a real plant too, not just a lego one! Cactuses are good too, you hardly ever have to water them, and they can remind you of your desert home, ha. Go to the local B&Q or Homebase (they are DIY shops)

yoo i cant help but feel like it looks so lonely, despite there being people, i think its just the feeling from being completely independent probably. GOOD LUCK THO inshaAllah this new phase goes really well Also, i think simple fairy lights (ikea has nice plug-in ones for just ten quid) hung on the wall would look so good, it creates a really nice ambience, i did the same for my miniature bedroom and it makes a huge difference :)
