Hello KZbin! Community college student from West Valley College here, coming to you with a video where I tell you about the factors that helped me decide which college I should go to, PLUS the reveal of which school I ended up choosing. I make a choice between UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara (UCSB), UC San Diego (UCSD), UCLA and UC Berkeley (Cal). It's crazy because I am actually planning to attend West Valley College next fall and hearing about all your incredible accomplishments as a transfer student is giving me so much motivation for the future. And I agree with everyone you had to say about the housing market in the Bay; it is absurdly expensive here! I wish you the best of luck at UCLA!

Such a small world! I think you're making an incredible decision by going to community college. West Valley is a great school to explore your academic potential and there are so many opportunities that you can take advantage of during your time in community college. You can do anything you put your mind to....don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Trust me, I had so many counselors tell me that I would never get into UCLA or Berkeley and here I am. I'm going to be making a lot more videos about my experience and also tips that I have for community college students so watch out for that. I had the same conundrum out of high school, I chose UCLA and ended up being the best decision of my life. I instantly fell in love with the campus, IMO less stress than Berkeley and I met the love of my life.

Hi Hailey, I got accepted to UC Berkeley and UCLA as well for the 2019 fall admission. I also have a hard time to decide between these two colleges. I was always wanting to go to UCLA ever since high school. However, all of sudden I got into Berkeley too, which I really did not expect at all. Would you have committed to UC Berkeley if they accepted you for the fall semester? Actually, Berkeley has better opportunities to get a job and better educational offers for my major. But, I am really afraid to survive there.

Congratulations! That's so exciting. Even if I had been accepted for fall I still would have chosen UCLA because the housing/financial situation was just too unstable for me. I'm sure there are KZbinrs out there who transferred to Berkeley, so you might want to try getting in touch with them to get more insight about the experience. All I can really say is UCLA is a great school! Good luck with making your decision and congrats once again 😀

Would you recommend applying to UC Irvine as well as the other schools that you applied to?

All of the UC's provide a world class education. You should apply anywhere you feel motivated to!

That depends on your own personal preference. You should go wherever you feel you fit in.

You will have no problem with the semester to quarter transition. It isn't that much different. The or good thing is if you don't like a particular class or instructor or class schedule, it will be over sooner.

Wise choice as UCLA area is safer. My pastor got mugged three times at Berkeley.
