We love roasted radishes. They become more sweet. Just coat with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. Put on sheet pan with sides. Roast in oven 375° til soft. Hope you try it. Delicious!

Hi Jen! So glad you got together with Melissa. I loved meeting her at HOA. She is a sweetheart. I'm thankful you had a great time. Looks like you and Zac are doing a stellar job gleaning and preserving your garden. With love from BanDana Gramma ♥

Great video guys! Love your hat Zack. You are a wonderful family. Working together to help one another. That's what life is all about. Jen spent some time with her friend. All of the family worked together to make this happen. You people love and support each other. God Bless

Love the hat man!! I also appreciate the relationship values. My husband and I have been together for 25 years and we never sleep apart. I was in the hospital a couple of times and it was weird for both of us. I really love that Jen got to be with a friend for a minute, because that kind of relaxation doesn't come around often as a mother, wife, daughter and sister. So bravo girl!!! This entire video made me feel at home. Thanks for that.✌🏼👩🌾🏡

We have chickens quail Guinea turkeys all kinds critters and we have possums that sit out there eat with our farm cats every single night, even have a mama cat that will pick up and raise any little ones. I have lived this life my entire life and the only thing they have ever messed with was if anything ever died or if any rouge chickens lay eggs about the farm. Not even my guardian dogs bother them…… but in my defense it’s probably because I’m visually impaired and fed them forever without knowing they weren’t cats tell my husband told me ……. So my dogs were probably like well if she’s feeding them just roll with it lol

You've been having colder weather there in Kentucky than we have had here in southern Maine! Well, I've never heard of pickled radishes, but that seems like a good idea. I am going to try making some next year. I loved seeing Jenn excited about her night away with a friend. Also, for anyone who says they've never seen cattle kept in electric fencing, they should check out: Joel Salatin, Justin Rhodes, The Macs, Jason at Sow the Land, and Morgan at Goldshaw Farm (and I'm sure there are many others). Keep up the good work!

Howdy from Australia...I get it Jen, sometimes we just need a wee bit of time with our girl friends. The smile on your face says it all, it is clear you had a lovely time with your best friend and that always revitalises us! I love watching what you guys are doing with the food that YOU grow, that's awesome. What a magic life style for your children, you guys are awesome parents. Crows? Gosh did that big UFO kidnap the deer and bobcat? hehe. Cattle are little escape artists. I had a calf born on Christmas day but we DIDNT have a bull? I thought it might have come from neighbouring properties and you can imagine the 'where did the calf come from' stories I got from neighbouring farmers when I rang to see if they were missing one!!! My favourite neighbour asked me why I hadn't noticed our cow was pregnant? Probably because they were free roaming beef cattle so they just roamed and I didn't take that much notice. I ended up calling the calf, a little boy, NoBull. Oh love the wood fire in winter, makes the house so cosy and homely. Great vid, really enjoyed seeing what you guys get up too...

Dexter and devons are great for small homestead. I love the miniature highland cows, they are so cute with their long hair. There is a homestead in Barborville that breeds the Dexter's I think.or it was the devons. That what we will get if I can get a cow. Jen you were a half an hour or less from me.

Zach, Danny and Wanda over @Deep South Homestead have cattle that's called Dexter's. They are a smaller breed and they are gorgeous! I seen them in person this passed Sunday. I feel in love with them and want at least one for our small, nearly, 3 acre Homestead. Check them out.

I hope y’all are getting a big high tunnel. That way y’all can grow all year and add to your herbs for soaps, tinctures, etc. on the online and on site property. Have you looked at Dexters for your replacement cattle breed? Danny @ Deep South Homestead says you can milk them, Miss Wanda & Danny don't milk theirs because they don't do dairy... They do sell some of theirs off from time to time & they are a smaller breed cattle. Good luck with your projects.

I've never seen tan radishes before! What are they? We like thin burgers also. I take a small cookie sheet, divide a 1 lb tube into 4 and squish the section of burger in each corner, then toss em in the oven. Cooks fast and they fit perfectly on sandwich bread.

I certainly would have sent the bull to freezer camp and filled up with that good meat. the 2 cows should be bred, and you could have to half hererford calves to raise up and sell/ or sell quarters once butchered. There is no way I would get rid of good cow. Bull def. in the freezer.

Oklahoma has the Oklahoma onion burger.. its a smash burger with grilled onions.. it was created in the depression. to stretch the ground beef.. the pits in Persimmons in Oklahoma and multiple other states have a spoon in them.. Bad winter lots of snow.. At least it wasn't a knife.. lol.. I thought about heading to south Texas if it was a knife.. Then I remembered they lost power for weeks.. If gasoline wasn't so high.. I would head to Florida..lol.. The older I get the less I like single digit temperature.. chill fact in the minus zero range.. May have to suck it up and go any way..
