Thank you for your message Peter! It is inspiring!I You are right, we don't need to be a Bible scholar or theologian, a Pastor or even a nun. ;). We can share our love for the Lord, pray for His will in our life, and ask that He use us to further His church. Thank you for this reminder! :)

Boy Peter. You are knocking it out of the park week after week. What a terrific message. If that is a bee on you, you were lucky you did not get stung. He almost went up your sleeve at one point. I think God was looking out for you. He did not want you to loose your train of thought by getting stung in the middle of such a great sermon.

I grew up in a atheist home with atheist friends and their families so my background is very different. I found my own way in how I percieve the world and my beliefs and I came here watching both out of curiosity of the bug as well as support this channel because you are good at what you do. I couldn't help but think that once you were a little boy inspired by a pastor to be a pastor and now you are coming full circle by inspiring another child to do the same. Because you will inspire many. I also get the sense that the bug wasn't an accident to be there in that perticular moment since everything is connected and nothing by accident.

I'm a Unitarian Universalist, but I love the words and love you spread. I may not believe in the trinity, the bible, or your church. I admire the sentiment of what you say and the passion you have in preaching. I'm chronically ill and cannot always attend church. I will continue to follow the Frey life and this channel for a spiritual and uplifting message that I am so beyond amazed to find in you and your wife.

Thank you Peter. It might sound odd but whilst the whole message is relevant, the words "I am with you always, to the end of the age" are the reassurance I needed to hear. There is a huge amount of change going on in my life and my own church and that small phrase is too easy to forget in times of change and turmoil. Be blessed this week :)

Peter I was wondering what sorts of gatherings or events your church holds on a weekly basis. Also, other than Sunday mornings do you all have a collective way of sharing the love of Christ and how we can be assured of eternal life. Do you all believe in the 'sinner's prayer'? Many times there are people who really put down or say they don't believe in being 'born again' but they do believe that Jesus died for their sins etc. So those two words are really getting a bad rap. What would you do?

@davidortega35710 ай бұрын
Matthew 28 19 was changed by the Roman catholic church in second century it was originally written go ye and teach all nations baptizing them in my name
@davidortega35710 ай бұрын
The church began on the day of Pentecost after God poured out his Spirit the 120 disciples were filled with the holy ghost and began to speak in tongues as the spirit gave them utterance Acts 2:1--4. Then Peter said unto them repent and be baptized everyone of you in the of Jesus christ for the remission of sin and you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost. The disciples went everywhere teaching and preaching the gospel baptizing all in Jesus ñame

I like these sermons on the new testatment but I would really like to hear you interpret the old testament. You said in another video that the old and the new testament God aren't two different Gods and that those two books shouldn't be read as two separate books but the stories in the old testament are a lot more violent. The OT God is not as merciful and as forgiving as the NT God. We look at other religions and we also say: "Oh it depends on which passage of the writings you read." But I think the same goes for the Bible and I would like to hear you preach on the story of Exodus for example and on the kind of God who would harden the heart of Pharao but then punish him and his people. What kind of person would do that? What kind of God?

I used to hang myself up on all these questions when I was younger.. I actually love these questions, they prove intelligence! Years and Years of my youth were spent in a fringe evangelical church that demonized the Catholic Church, (for it's history in political and historical misdeeds) yet uses the very Bible the Catholics built themselves. To think our scripture is untainted by human error and human agendas would be naive! However, all I have to go on outside of my intuition, prayer life, and Holy Spirit is the Bible. When I read the Bible I ask to see what I need to see and to learn what it is I need to learn. When I think of the case of the Pharaoh and Egypt, I think of the hardness of the life led by the Hebrews at the hands of the Egyptians. Pharaoh's heart was always hard, why else would he treat other humans as they were? I feel the wording there was given for literary affect, his heart was always hard. I feel here God shows that his favor was with the Hebrews (and why and how that "changed" stems back to Eden, and it is a huge paragraph of its own.). God also says that vengeance is his, and how the Hebrews suffered in Egypt, God offered the same judgement to the Egyptians. I am no theologian. My degree isn't in religion, but your question peeked my interest because I meditate on the same questions myself! 😀

I think with the way in which Peter analyzes every single word and holds that to be true in one passage, then IMO he can't go to another passage and then say: Oh well, you can't take it literally. I just can't help but wonder if the morality of the God you're supposed to follow seems somehow more flawed then your own, then why follow him? Is vengenance really ok? Is that something to strive for? I wonder what we should really take from these OT stories. If God is almighty, he could have freed his people without all those plagues, without killing all those children. And I know when it was written and that it was written by man and I also saw the documentaries explaining from which historical facts these stories might come - it would be ok for me to say the OT and the NT need to be read separately but Peter explicitly said in another video that he doesn't do that and that he doesn't see a difference in how God is portrayed and I wonder about that. I would love to know what he thinks about these stories and about the OT God.

+Interlude Adventures I am not a pastor but no vengeance is not for us. I can't remember the verse but it is the NT. " Vengeance is the Lords" basically the world version of Karma.
@TheFieldhockeygk118 жыл бұрын
There are not two gods - a New Testament god and an Old Testament god. We see many faces of god, but it is the same god. The god of Abraham, and Isaac, of Noah, and of the disciples. This sermon was the basic sort that a seminary student would preach to their class. It was a basic exegetical type, but didn't get into the nitty gritty of the text. It talked only about "Jesus," but what about God? Lest we forget God's place in this text.
