@@snafuart I completely agree with you. This is crazy that she weren't arrested on the spot. However, I'm pretty sure it would have been the same in germany or france (my country), when the car was king (70's- 80's). Even in the 2000's you could escape jail if you killed somebody by recklessly driving. (Pretty sure it still happens nowadays)
@snafuart3 жыл бұрын
@@xmtxx I am not sure about France but definitely not in Germany that easy and it never was normal, I personally even think the punishment would have been more draconic back then than it is today, but it is still a high penalty thing here and you wont be walking home, but straight to jail. It is also not you in Germany who decides in this case if charges are pressed, but the prosecutors office. Who follows the law, being very stict concerning intentional usage of a car as a weapon. I rmember an US armed forces lady in Germany, who got arrested by German police at the spot they stopped her for driving with her husband on the hood, the charge was attempted murder and the case was only two viillages away back in the 90ies. The case was completely different though because in fact it was him, an abusive husband, who tried to refuse to let her go, hitting the car and finally jumping on it, while he keppt hitting the windshield in attempt to break into the car. And she was snailing with him on the car, trying to get to the police station in fear; not like this psychopath one in this video, speeding. Luckily there was video footage ftom the Army base they both lived proving her version, but till all of this was investigated properly, she was in German jail for some four months because he was lying about the whole incident. I can assure you. an attack with a weapon on a person is attempted murder here, unless it is not self defense. And it does not matter what you use as a weapon, does not matter if it is a knife, a baseball bat or a car.
