Where is My Tax Refund? 2024 IRS and Tax Updates

The IRS opened the e-filing for federal tax returns on January 29, 2024. If taxpayers electronically file their Form 1040, they will generally receive their refund deposit within 8 to 15 days.
For taxpayers filing a return that claims either the EIC or ACTC, the refunds are delayed under the PATH Act. The PATH Act delay lifts on February 15, 2024.

If your with Direct Express Comercia Bank do not give them your tax refund and get out now. That finance company blocked my card and is withholding the rest from me violating my civil and constitutional rights and then making me go to social security to get the money sent back. Someone needs to have them prosecuted and shut down and the Government needs to go with a different corporation. They do this to other people too, that's why they were sued.

Generally, if you received a Form 1095-A & you forget to file F8962 fo reconcile, processing will be suspended and you'll be issued a 12c letter while your return is in ERS. Unfortunately, depending on how long you take to respond, your return can be delayed in ERS. So make sure you double check & dont forget to file any required forms. The 12c letter eill have a fax # in it. Its alwsys beter to fax the forms then to mail them.

If you filed with dependents it won't be updated until after the 17th is what I read.

You have to call and answer a ton of questions and if you don't answer the million questions perfectly they make you schedule an appointment to go in and prove to the IRS you are you.
