That's a fun process, but it's extremely time-consuming! I decided not to do that this particular time, but I did take the time in 2014 to go through the entire process and post it up on my other channel (MSGrantMusic) as a full series. There have been a few fans and friends who have mentioned the use of Patreon, and I want to be 100% clear on this: I LOVE Patreon and the cause it stands for. However, this is not the correct context with which to use its services. Patreon exists to help make it possible for content creators on the internet continue to make a living doing what they love while giving their supporters a viable opportunity to support the work each content creator engages in. Drum Corps shows HAVE NOT AND HAVE NEVER BEEN my own property, and because of this, I do not see it as morally acceptable to monetize my work regarding the transcribing of the incredibly talented writers and arrangers in the drum corps activity. It's the same reason I do not allow ads to stream on my transcriptions, nor do I send copies of my scores to anyone. I appreciate the suggestions and desires to help, but these transcriptions are meant to support and express appreciation for the drum corps organizations who own the original content. I may use Patreon on another channel for a completely different purpose one day, but - however much work I put into these transcription videos - I will never monetize my copies of their music in any way. Thanks!

Kind of late to comment, but for anyone reading, transcribing a full, accurate, brass score for a whole drum corps show takes A LOT of time, especially if it's as accurate as possible. I did the full brass score for Tilt and it took a long time because I was busy with school and band. I was in high school at the time and it was hard enough so for someone in college who's also working and doing a lot more, it'll take even longer. Plus it's Crown, so runs for days. Good luck on your composing and future with music! Also my friend has seen the 2016 show already at a camp and really wants me to transcribe it, so after I see it I might attempt that if I really like it and have time.

I was just wondering, how is it that you add in the "backfield" option? I've been using Finale for about 6 years now and have never been able to figure this out. It would definitely help with my show compositions.

+Tyler Douglas Thanks for watching! I assume you're referring to the reverb effect during the backfield section of the opener from my 2014 transcription? I actually extracted the audio file and experimented with some special effects when creating the 2014 transcription. The "backfield" effect was actually created artificially using Audacity. I have Audacity and I've done it with that program before, I was hoping there was some way to do so inside of Finale. I'm sure there will be in the future, but I really don't feel like putting out another $600 or whatever it costs these days.
