Thank you so much for the history lesson!! An old friend of mine got me into drones back in 2016/2017 and he had a Phantom 4 Pro and I was amazed by it… my very first drone was a Phantom 3 Gold but later I got the Mavic Pro Platinum I would tell him…. “The Mavic is the future for DJI, ill be surprised if they ever make another Phantom” and we would go back and forth on it him loving his Phantom and me Loving my Mavic…it seems my vision was right and even now in late 2023 there is not a Phantom 5. But I still fly my Mavic Pro Platinum and DJI Spark he bought for me all those years ago. If a Phantom 5 ever comes to light he will never see one, so a tribute and a Thanks to you Michael E K. May you rest in peace.

O Captain! My Captain! This was an super rundown. My first drone was a Phantom 2 Vision+ and I used it to launch my mapping business. I later transitioned to the 3 and 4 models as they came out and finally to the P4 RTK which I still use today as it is simply reliable. I still have my P4P V2 as I often use it with the Goggles RE for site inspections and exploring. While I have a wide variety of drones, I still come back to the Phantom because of its reliabilty and its simply a great bird to fly. Stay Awesome!

I bought two different off brand drones to practice with as I was a beginner years ago and although I bought one years after the other, neither one worked as well at all… especially the second drone which resembled a Maverick, the first one resembled the Phantom. Needless to say I’m still a beginner but I hope that all changes for me in 2024 as I plan on buying a good used drone and searching KZbin to learn more. Hi Steve, great video as always, I had a P4P in 2017 and used it for the odd job and for fun however by last year it developed a fault and would give me warning about out of range and it was only 50 metres away so I bought a brand new P4P 2.0 from DJI, I researched the Mavic 2 Pro at the time but for the small jobs I do its all about the camera so I stayed with the Phantom, It was also handy to as I had heaps of batteries, ND filters and other accessories from my first drone to re-use.

One of the interesting things that was available for the latter Pro models was the ability to record in RAW mode, which the cinematographers would like a lot. This is a great video I really appreciate it. I really miss my phantom three Pro and I know that the drones today have a much higher level of technology but man at the time that drone just did everything I needed it to do. The range was incredible for me. Now I will say I didn’t have duel IMUs and other redundancy and I did have a fly away in couple of times with my Mavic pro I got it back, but the funny thing is today we don’t ever hear about flyaways. KZbin used to be full of videos with drones flying away you never hear about it anymore and that’s probably because of the redundancy they have in the hardware.

Sir, I am just starting to become interested in getting a drone. My brother got the Phantom 4 when it came out, so this video caught my attention. I really enjoyed your video. It was very informative. Thanks for sharing. This got me thinking about a really cool drone idea. Maybe it could be for the mythical Phantom 5 pro. Let's keep your features for the non pro version. It could have a wireless charging system, with a small stripped down endurance tanker or wingman drone that Flys out first to the halfway point and you could land it or hover. Then send the main drone. This wingman would have a small lightweight camera and minimal features but a huge battery and a wireless charger for the main drone and it would act as a repeater. It could extend flight distance greatly and recharge both to and from trips at the halfway point.
